Billy Carroll, age 85, of Louisville, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at University of Louisville Frazier Rehab Institute. The Edmonson County native was born on November 22, 1939 to the late Noel and Ellis Meredith Carroll.
Billy proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. After his military career, he transitioned to civilian life, retiring as a skilled driver for Tiger Truck Lines. He was a member of Jock United Baptist Church. Billy cherished the peaceful drives to the countryside, where he delighted in spending quality time with friends on the golf course, enjoying not just the game but the fellowship and laughter that accompanied each outing. He leaves to honor his memory— his sister Clara Jean Elmore (H.B.) of Louisville; nephews, Jeff Vincent, Greg Carroll (Kim), Lee Carroll and Eric Thomas; nieces, Diane Eakles and Lori Cox, along with several great nephews and nieces. Leattia dedicated over seventeen years to working at the Cave City Garment Company. She was a member of Park City Baptist Church and the Hiseville Order of the Eastern Star, where she formed many cherished friendships. Leattia had a big heart for her little community and absolutely adored taking care of her grandbabies. In her free time, she loved tending to her beautiful flowers and keeping her home neat and cozy. Chelsea was a 2010 honors graduate of Edmonson County High School and a 2013 cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University. Her journey was marked by meaningful connections and experiences along the way. As a 2017 alumna of Leadership Bowling Green, she became actively involved in her community through both organizations and volunteer work such as Birdies for Brittney. She was a member of Bowling Green Junior Women's Club and Chalybeate United Baptist Church, where she was saved as a young girl. For over ten years, she dedicated her skills to banking at American Bank and Trust, where she also built lasting relationships. Chelsea truly cherished life, finding joy in traveling and creating precious memories with her family and friends. Her passion for college football and basketball, especially for the WKU Hilltoppers, brought her excitement and camaraderie. Above all, she was a loving dog mom to her cherished girl, Mavis, who brought her immense joy and companionship. Chelsea's spirit, servant’s heart and love for those around her will always be remembered. He was married to his best friend and soul mate, Maxine “Mac” Hogan Brooks, until they were parted by her death on July 26, 2024.
Rondal proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, dedicating twenty-one years of his life to service and retiring as a First Sergeant. After retiring, he continued to make an impact as a JROTC instructor for Owensboro Public Schools and as a security officer for Guardsmark Security. His unwavering passion for his community shone through his thirty years of service with the Park City Lions Club and as a loyal member of Barren County DAV. During this time, he worked tirelessly to see the completion of the Lions Club clubhouse, Park City Veterans Memorial Wall, and to ensure that each veteran buried at Evergreen Cemetery was reverenced with a flag at their grave site. He was honored to be a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and a former member of the Barren County Planning and Zoning Committee. Rondal's life was a remarkable testament to the essence of being a true servant. He leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Jane Brooks Skrovan of Park City; his brother, William E. Brooks of Paducah; a sister-in-law, Shelby Esters (Leo) of Cave City; a nephew and niece, Tim Brooks and his family of Glasgow and Treva Nell Childress (Eric) of Park City, along with several other nephews, nieces and extended family members.
