 Billy Alton Potter, 71, of Wingfield passed away at 1:08 PM June 29, 2016 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was an industrial maintenance worker for Complete Janitorial. He was a son of Wesley Andrew Potter and Ella Mae Cowles Potter
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Wingfield Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday.
 
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Besau; Three sons, Wesley Andrew Potter and Travis Besau both of Wingfield and Shawn Besau of Brownsville; a daughter, Bobbie-Jo Besau of Wingfield; a sister, Brenda Elmore of Shepherdsville; and eleven grandchildren.

​Carlos E. Morrison, age 73 of Park City, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at T.J. Sampson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Park City native was born February 22, 1943 to the late Alvin Laslie Morrison and Grovena Compton Morrison. He was married to Jacqueline Morrison, who survives.

He was a machinist for R.R. Donnelly and a farmer. He belonged to Barren County Baptist Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by he is survived by four sons, David E. Morrison (Sandra) of Clarkson, KY, Chris Morrison (Jane) of Glasgow, KY, Jon T. Morrison (Lorie) of Bon Ayr, KY, Brian K. Morrison (Angie) of Hendersonville, TN; one brother, Arlis Morrison (Shirley) of Smiths Grove, KY; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Morrison Family Cemetery.

​Myrtle Mae Duvall, 78, of Louisville passed away at 9:38 AM June 15, 2016 at Signature Health Care South in Louisville.
 
The Barren County native was a cook, farmer, homemaker and member of Beaver Dam United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Wells and Verna Wilkerson Wells and the wife of the late Earl T. Duvall.
 
Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Light Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Debora Parsley of Louisville; a son, Dewayne Duvall (Jenny) of Louisville; a sister, Ruby Wilkerson (Tonn) of Cedar Springs; a brother, Nelson Wells of Chalybeate; three grandsons, Josh Jackson, Shaun Bacon and Daniel Bacon; and a special niece, Doris Lindsey.

​Myrtle Nadine Roof, age 89, of Shrewsbury, KY, passed away Thursday, (June 16, 2016) in Leitchfield.
 
She was born on December 5, 1926, in Rhoda, Edmonson County, KY, the daughter of the late Johnny and Maude Doyle Cassidy.
 
She was a housewife, and home-maker, who loved to cook. She enjoyed gardening, and all housework. She loved her children and family. She was a member of Shrewsbury General Baptist Church.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Linda S. Bean and her husband, Lloyd, of Cave City; three sons, Billy Roof and wife, Clydie, Tony Roof and wife, Jean, and Jr. Roof and wife, Jeanie, all of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Stella Madison, Freda Huddleston, Aline Lobb, and Dreama Moore; and two brothers, Charles and Donald Cassidy.
 
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Roof, and two brothers, James and Frank Cassidy.
 
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, (June 19, 2016) at the Shrewsbury General Baptist Church. Bro. Billy Bertram and Bro. William Dodson will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 
Visitation will be at the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m.  until time of services at the Shrewsbury General Baptist Church.

Richard James Casebeer, 70

​Richard James Casebeer, 70 of Chalybeate passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at St Thomas Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

The Clarksville, TN native was the son of the late James Russell and Elna Margaret Madsen Casebeer.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Naomi Ruth Watt Casebeer. 

He and his wife owned and operated D&D RV Service for 18 years.  Richard also worked and retired from Quick Fuel Technology.

His survivors include three sons, Rick Casebeer (Kellie); Scott Casebeer (Linda); Rick Casebeer (Jonnie); Three grandchildren, Travis Casebeer, Ashley Johnson, Cassidy Casebeer; two great grandchildren, Landon and Maddox Johnson; his mother-in-law, Margie E. Watt; sister-in-law, Gloria Howard; brother-in-law, Robert Dale Watt (Julie); two special nieces, Penny Skaggs and Sandra Cowles (Chris); one great niece and nephew, B.J. & Morgan Skaggs.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Otter Gap Cemetery.  

​Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday  and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Edward "Ed" Arterburn, 94

​Edward “Ed” Arterburn, age 94 of Park City, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Park City native was born August 14, 1921 to the late Johnnie P. Arterburn and Matra Mae Sartain Arterburn.

For 69 years he was married to Cecelia Furlong Arterburn, who survives.

He was a farmer and a retired rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a World War II Army veteran, belonged to the Park City Masonic Lodge #934 F&AM and a member of Park City United Methodist Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Gail Broady (Gary) of Franklin, KY, Kim Burks (Teddy) of Park City, KY; three grandchildren, Beth Broady of Philadelphia, PA, Tyler Burks of Park City, KY, Megan Burks of Park City, KY and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Park City Volunteer Fire Department; 41 Mammoth Cave St. Park City, KY, 42160 or to a charity dear to your heart.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

​Keith Ellison Brown, age 54, of Brownsville, KY departed this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was born on March 22, 1962 in Flint, Michigan to the late Sam Brown and Bettie Brock Terry, who survives.

Keith was a Brownsville City Councilman, an Executive Director of the Miss Bowling Green Scholarship Pageant and employed as the Produce Manager at The Cee Bee Food Store. He also attended the First Baptist Church of Finley. Prior to moving to Kentucky, he was a teller at First Citizens National Bank and was an 18 year cast member at Walt Disney World and VIP Guest Relations.

Besides his mother, Bettie Terry, he is survived by her husband Jerry of Steele, Missouri; one brother, John Brown (Sherrie) of Finley, TN; one nephew, Kyle Brown; a special aunt, Sue Dykes; a dear friend, George Timothy Reed of Brownsville, KY, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

​Annette “Ann” Hawks, age 78, of Wingfield, KY departed this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. The Sevierville, TN, native was born on April 11, 1938 to the late Mary Alice Shultz. She was the wife of the late Charlie M. “C.M.” Hawks .

She was a homemaker and a member of Wingfield United Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Sherry Womack (Jim) of Bowling Green, KY, Teresa Dawson (Buck) of Scottsville, KY, Lisa Tarter (Bradley) of Pig, KY, Jill Herron (Tony) of Rockfield, KY; two sons, Randy Hawks of Wingfield, KY, Mark Hawks (Grace) of Paducah, KY; one brother, Don Shultz (Charlotte) of Kodak, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy Dawson (Lori), Zack Dawson (Brittanie), Amanda Marlin (Josh), Brandon Newton (Joanie), Jamie Dugard (Jamie), Brooke Berry (Jonathan), Christina Beliles (Blake), Lori Watt (Dewayne), Sidney Pedigo, Tayler Hawks, Savannah Hawks, Haley Tarter, Hunter Herron, Serenity Hawks and fifteen great grandchildren.

​Larry C. Vincent, 66, of Rocky Hill passed away at 1:17 PM June 3, 2016 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

The Edmonson County native was a mechanic employed by Force-Wallace Ford and mechanic instructor at Bowling Green Vocational Technical School, a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of New Home General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Huel Vincent and Thelma Hardin Vincent. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Vincent and Arlie Vincent.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Dit Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday, 9 AM-8 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday.
 
Surviving are three sons, Jason Vincent and Justin Vincent both of Sweeden and Jeremy Vincent (Brooke) of Chalybeate; four brothers, Cotton Vincent (Brenda) and Danny Vincent (Bonnie) both of Roundhill, Mitch Vincent (Kathy) of Hodgenville and Wendell Vincent (Carol) of Brownsville; seven grandchildren; and a special friend, Maurita Miller.

Greg Jaggers, age 68, of Chalybeate, KY departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2016 in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on February 29, 1948 to the late Lloyd and Hopoma Patton Jaggers.

He retired from Country Oven and was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. He was also a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.

He is survived by one brother, Don Jaggers of Greensburg, KY; one uncle, Bill Jaggers of Sweeden, KY; one aunt, Jean McCoy of Louisville, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Jaggers, and one sister, Carolyn Pruitt.

Memorial contributions can be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
