Sandra A. Hayes, 74, of Brownsville passed away Saturday June 24, 2023 at her home.
The Edmonson County native was a 30-year employee of AT&T as a long distance operator and she was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Louisville. She was a daughter of the late James Otis Hayes and Marie Agnes Lashley Hayes. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Hayes and Kenneth Hayes; a sister, Dean “Willy” Hayes; and three beloved dogs Jacques, Prissy, and Princess. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on with burial to follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will take place 5-8 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home. Surviving are two sisters; Mary Lee Hayes of Louisville, and Peggy Marie Hayes of Sunfish. A brother; Kevin Dale Hayes of Leitchfield; several nieces and nephews. She also fed all the squirrels in the neighborhood. Wanda Mae White Dickson, age 84 of Cave City, was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
The Green County native was born on October 5, 1938 to the late Rommie “Pete” and Roxie Leontine Neagle White. She was married for sixty-five years to James E. Dickson, who survives. Wanda was a member of Basil Chapel United Baptist Church in Cave City. She was employed for many years by Firestone Textiles Company in Bowling Green, and also Carhartt Manufacturing in Glasgow until March of 2012. Besides her husband, James, she leaves to honor her memory— son, Mike Dickson (Brenda) of Bowling Green; grandson, Craig Dickson of Boston, MA; one brother, Don White (Elma) of Louisville; one sister, Fay Wright (J.W.) of Greensburg, and a host of other relatives and friends. Helen was born on April 27, 1931 in Lawson Bottom, Cumberland County, KY, to the late William G. Morgan and the late Crystal M. Hawes.
For most of her life, Helen was a dedicated member of the Park City Methodist Church. She enjoyed being on the go and staying busy. In her younger years, she was employed by Neville’s Restaurant, Lerman’s, Riherd’s Sport Shop, Watson’s Department Store, and Park Mammoth Resort. She also enjoyed being out in nature. She was always dressed fashionably and enjoyed wearing bright, cheerful colors. She leaves to honor her memory, her children, Roger Martin (Machell), Danny Martin (Martha), Patricia Cook, and Ronnie Martin; a sister Patsy Toms; nine beloved grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Malcolm Martin; a brother, Denny; sisters, Shirley, Faye, and Renee’, and an infant great grandson. The Edmonson County native was a 2004 graduate of Warren Central high School, an EMT/paramedic for Plano fire Dept., Logan County Ambulance Service and Franklin-Simpson Ambulance Service and a member of Franklin Community Church. He was the son of Dwayne Lobb and Laura Williams Lobb of Bowling Green, who survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Betty Williams, Lorraine Stone and Arnold Lobb. The Edmonson County native was born on January 13, 1931 to the late Elic McCombs and Lena Spillman McCombs. She was married to her husband of seventy-two years, Douglas Bean, until they were parted by death.

The Warren County native was an employee of Country Oven Bakery. He was saved in a revival at Miller Hill Missionary Baptist Church after marrying the love of his life and was always willing to help others in need, despite his disabilities. He was a son of the late Erdist Kessinger and Margie Lucille Cox Kessinger. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Kessinger and a sister, Judy Cardwell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Fairview United Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Tresia Ann Brooks, 66, of Brownsville passed away with family by her side Sunday June 18, 2023 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Eunell Raymer and Betty Ann Minton Raymer. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Eunell Raymer. Edward Keown, 79, of Smiths Grove passed away Wednesday June 14, 2023 in Edmonton.
The Edmonson County native was a life-long farmer. He was a son of the late Robert Keown and Maude Hampton Keown. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Phyllis Liwoch; three brothers, Jewel Keown, Randall Keown and Urel Thomas Keown; two sisters, Evangeline Boyd and Lavonne Molden; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Molden and Wilbur Gibbons; and a sister-in-law, Emma Keown. Myra Renee (Woodcock) Dwyer, 67, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born June 29, 1955 to the late Shelby Woodcock and Geneva (Wilson) Woodcock. Myra was retired from Service One Credit Union as a Marketing Executive. In addition, she was a talented artist that was heavily involved in the local arts in the area. She showcased her works at Pushin’ Building Studio in Downtown Bowling Green. She was a dedicated member of The Presbyterian Church. Above all of this she was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, Nana and friend that will be missed by all who knew her. Her memories will be lovingly cherished by her daughters, Megan Vincent (Jason) and Miranda Knapp (Brian); her sister, Nona Logsdon (Gary); her brother, Barry Woodcock (Donna); her adored grandchildren, Alexandria Vincent, Devin Vincent, Bradley Knapp, and Ruby Knapp; her best friend, Kendra Turner; in addition, she is survived by a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at J.C. Micheal Clayton Lowe, age 48 of Smiths Grove, departed this life on Friday, June 9, 2023 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Barren County native was born on December 20, 1974 to Clayton and Becky Lowe, also of Smiths Grove.
Micheal worked for Ragle’s Concrete as a mason. He was also a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church. Besides his parents, Clayton and Becky, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Coty Sims (Charlie) of Glasgow, Kendra Lowe of Cave City and Ellie Ann Lile of Glasgow; grandchildren, Gracie Sims and Hayden Micheal Sims of Glasgow and former wife, Kelly Lowe of Cave City. She was married to James Potter, who also survives. She was proceeded in death by her great granddaughter, Jordan Thomas.
Beverly was a devoted wife, caring daughter and mother, amazing mamaw, and a wonderful friend. Her joy in life came from her family and any time spent with her husband. She loved the simple life, everything in nature, her plants, animals, and especially butterflies and sunflowers. She is also survived by four daughters Jennifer Tarter, Cecily Potter (Kevin Brown), Gabby Proctor, and Tiffany Hughes (Mikey), two sons Vic Moody and Chris Potter, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. There will be no public service. The family will hold a private memorial. Nola Higgs, 71, of Segal passed away peacefully with family by her side at 8:23 P.M June 8th, 2023, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Teddy Higgs; her second husband Gerald Higgs; a sister, Hilda Higgs; a brother, Bobby Vincent; a son-in-law, Rick Russell; a brother-in-law, Eddie Higgs; two sisters-in-law, Judy Alford and Eirlene Dexter; a mother and father-in-law, Cova and Phlemon Higgs; a great niece, Alicia Vincent; a great nephew, Baby Higgs. Goretta Ramey VanMeter, 72, of Bee Spring, Ky passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 3:48 PM on June 5, 2023, at her home. The Pike County native has called Edmonson County home since 1987. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring friend. She spent her life for those around her and did all things in her life with love, faith, and kindness.
Her joy was her husband of 37 years, Steve, and her daughter, Keegan. She loved traveling the world and making memories, flowers, and being a pet lover. She was passionate about education and was a retired Health and Physical Education teacher. She worked for several years at Kyrock Elementary School and previously at Phelps High School in Pike County. Throughout her teaching tenure she also taught many sports. Goretta was the daughter of the late Ermol and Imal Ramey. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Rita Barnes and her Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Margaret and Arnold VanMeter. David Aaron Bagshaw, age 61 of Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The Edmonson County native was born on August 31, 1961 to the late Robert Gilbert and Anna Earlene Bagshaw. He was married to Shivonnia Renee Hatcher Bagshaw and Sandy Higgs Bagshaw, both whom preceded him in death.
David worked for Greenwood Tree Service, and was a member of Stockholm United Baptist Church. Margaret Ann had many talents in life. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in her younger years. She was a professional seamstress and made many things including costumes for the Louisville Ballet and the Actors Theatre of Louisville. You may have been lucky enough to receive banjo lessons from her also. Her most recent enjoyment came from volunteering with the Pathfinders Food Pantry. Though she was involved in many things throughout her life her most cherished title was being wife, mother and grandma to her family. She attended Highland United Methodist Church. She always had such a loving nature, and would greet those she loved with a friendly smile and warm hug. She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Gloria Oldham of Ocala, FL, Bonnie Franklin (Bill) of Phoenix, AZ and Betty Ralph of Conroe, TX; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Jeanne Carman (Mike) of Chalybeate, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that she adored.
