Gail Cloyd, 57

​Gail Cloyd, age 57, of Mammoth Cave, KY departed this life on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Bowling Green, KY. Gail was born on January 15, 1959 in Frankfort, KY, to the late W.M. Jason Hammons and Ann Joyce Warfield Hammons. She was married to the late Michael Revel Cloyd.

She was a nursing assistant and worked for the Bowling Green Medical Center and also worked for the KY Office of Vital Statistics. She was a member of the Edmonson County Rescue Squad and 
Providence United Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Crystal Gail McGrew of Bee Spring, KY, Billie Gail Cloyd of Mammoth Cave, KY; one sister, Claudia Morton of Frankfort, KY; six grandchildren, Cody Brooks, Hannah Lee McGrew, Devin Jaggers, Kaitlyn Harper, Samantha Gregory, and Gavin Tomes. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bridget Gail Jaggers, and two sisters, Billie Rose Hollar, and Jo Ellen Eldridge.

Interment will be in Jock Church Cemetery.

​Cheryl Lynn Thompson, age 67, of Pig, KY departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Bowling Green, KY. Cheryl was born on March 4, 1949 in Lexington, KY to the late Charles and Anabelle Sexton. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive father Charles Webb.

She was a homemaker and a member of Park City United Methodist Church, Capitol Hill Homemakers and secretary of the Edmonson County Cattlemen’s Association.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Thompson; two sons, Michael Thompson (Sherrell) and Josh Thompson (Amber); two grandchildren, MaKaylee Thompson and Connor Thompson all of Pig, KY; three sisters, Linda Knowles (Howard), Brenda George (Chester) and Lisa Copeland (Steve) all of Georgia, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.

​William Lancaster, age 65, of Alvaton, KY passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 in Bowling Green, KY. The Hopkins County native was born on March 17, 1951 to the late Lester and Elizabeth Lindsey Lancaster.

He was a siding installer for Osborne Home Improvement and a member of Poplar Springs United Baptist Church.

He is survived by four brothers, Garnet Lancaster (Tina) of Louisville, Ray Lancaster (Ruth) of Louisville, Ruben Lancaster (Martha) of Plano, John Lancaster of Bowling Green; sister Faye Middleton (Rex) of Alabama; three aunts, Gladys Brock, Jonell Wilder (Clifton), Louise Dutton and several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Poplar Springs Church Cemetery.

​ James Oval Johnson, 78, of Brownsville passed away at 6:30 AM July 13, 2016 at his home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a retired construction worker, a farmer, a member of Oakland Lodge #563 F&AM and a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Blane Johnson and Lucy Vincent Johnson and the husband of Willadean Lindsey Johnson, who survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia K. Johnson; six sisters, Marie Lindsey, Daphene Musick, Geraldine Vincent, Jewel Vincent, Fredia Vincent and Louise Roberts; and a brother, Walter Johnson.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday.
 
Also surviving are two daughters, Jenny Hogan of Falls of Rough and Debbie Johnson of Sweeden; three sons, David Johnson (Ruth) of Brownsville and Dennis Johnson and Andy Johnson (Jennifer) both of Smiths Grove; a sister, Erma Dean Hogan of Brownsville; a brother, Noah Johnson of Brownsville; 12 grandchildren, Wayne Spillman, Daisy Judd, Jason Vincent, Justin Vincent, Jeremy Vincent, Tina Walden, Mickey Johnson, JoAnna Webb, Amberly Young, Andrea Brown, Ariel Beckner and Adam Johnson; and 20 great grandchildren.

​Mary S. Jones, age 86 of Park City, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born April 11, 1930 to the late Edward G. and Ella Kerr Cox and was married to the late Jack E. Jones.

She was a homemaker of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by one son, Paul A. Jones (Derenda) of Park City; one daughter, Jacklyn S. Jones (Lillian F. Lindholm) of Pleasant Hill, IA; one grandson, Christopher Michael Jones (Leslie); one granddaughter, Angela Dawn Hamilton; three great granddaughters, Chyrston Jones, Karissa Jones and Emilee Grace Hamilton all of Park City; one brother, George W. Cox (Carol) of Bryant, OH; three sisters, Lucy Logsdon, Edith Logsdon and Hazel Hunt (Dickie) all of Cave City.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Everett Michael Jones; three sisters, Ethel Meredith, Ruby Ramsey and Ora Denton; one brother, Everette Cox.

​Rosemary Carder Ragar, age 67, of Brownsville, KY passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 in Glasgow, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on December 7, 1948 to the late Virgil Garnett “Billy” Carder and Norma Johnson James. She was married to the late David Glenn Ragar.

She was a housewife and was a member of Macedonia General Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory one son, Joie Meredith of Park City; one daughter, Dorthy Ragar of Brownsville and seven grandchildren, Craig Meredith, Tasha Meredith, Dalton Meredith, Colton Meredith, Natalie Meredith, Glenn Tolbert and Laura Tolbert.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Meredith; brother, Joe Carder and sister, Beulah Ann Webb.
​
Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Charles “Pete” Cole, age 58 of Goodlettesville, TN, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Clarksville, TN. The Edmonson County native was born July 8, 1957 to the late Charles E. Cole and Juanita Cutliff Cole of Cedar Springs, KY, who 
survives.

He was a superintendent for DWC. He belonged to Cedar Hill United Baptist Church.

Besides his mother he is survived by his girlfriend, Kelly Sheets of Clarksville, TN; one daughter, Kelly Casey (Chris McGlauflin) of Henderson, KY; one grandson Christopher Charles McGlauflin; one sister, Janice Johnson (Garrold) of Cedar Springs, KY; one brother, Butch Cole (Sherri Osborne) of Cedar Springs, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Lambert Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

​Jimmy Allen Seabolt, 50, of Brownsville passed away at 5:45 AM July 1, 2016 at Hospice House in Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a painter for DTD Painting. He was a son of the late Bobby G. McGrew and Judy Vincent McGrew of Brownsville, who survives.
 
Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday.
 
Also surviving are a daughter, Amy Davis of Rocky Hill; four sisters, Doris "Jeannie" Minyard (David) and Tammy Shepherd (Mark) both of Brownsville, Pamela Decker (Eric) of Lindseyville and Christina Wright (Michael) of Savannah, GA; a brother, Thomas Davidson of Brownsville; and three grandchildren, Kenneth Davis, Joey Coleman, and Khloe Coleman.
