Theresa Williams Colburn Binion, 57, of Bee Spring passed away at 2:45 PM Sunday July 29, 2018 at her home.
The Flat Rock, MI native was an LPN for 33 years- having worked for The Medical Center at Bowling Green and for Dr. Avula. She was also a 1979 graduate of Edmonson County High School and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of Romer Lee Williams and Virgie Lashley Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday. Surviving are her husband, Greg Binion; a son, Michael "Mikey" Colburn of Bee Spring; and a brother, Ronnie Williams of Bee Spring. Sammie Renfro, age 74 of Chalybeate, KY departed this life on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The Edmonson County native was born on April 16, 1944 to the late Herbert “Hub” Renfro and Maude Campbell Renfro. He was married to Sue Carroll Renfro, who survives.
Sammie retired from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife as a conservation officer. He was a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church . Ronald was born on November 30, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Oldham County High School in 1961 and started working for Western Electric shortly thereafter. Ronald went on to serve in both the United States Army and Kentucky National Guard. He retired after 27 years with Western and let his sugar mama drag him across the country to wherever she transferred with the Federal Government. He loved racing, dreaming big, and lake days. He was a stinker but we loved him. He is proceeded in death by his father, Noah Francis York; mother, Dorothy Louise Magers; stepfather, Willie Moss Magers and son, Joey. She was recognized for her civic work many times while working for the Neighbor Housing Services in Menlo Park, CA and as a member of Menlo Park Planning Commission before moving to Kentucky to care for her Grandmother, Mossie Monroe. Iva was known for her sales ability, her feistiness, her wonderful cooking, her love of antiques and yard sales. She was a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church and River City Corvette Club. He was a son of the late Marion Rudolph "M.R." Jackson and Bernice Yawn Jackson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Jackson. His survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandy Haynes Beckner; his son, Jason Beckner (Melissa); his daughter, Gena York (Chris); eight grandchildren, Georgia Beckner, Gavin Beckner, Lilly Miller, Gage Beckner, Caleb York, Kaden York, Kinsley York and Molly Miller; one brother, Phillip Beckner (Mary), one sister, Peggy Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
