​Mary Goins Wilson, 87, of Bee Spring, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Brownsville. The Edmonson County native was born on August 28, 1929 to the late Alvin McKinley Goins and Vina Hunt Goins. She was married to the late William C. Wilson.

Mary was a homemaker , a devoted mother, a former member of the Eastern Star and a member of Jock United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory one daughter, Linda Faye of Bee Spring; one daughter-in-law, Venettia Wilson of Bee Spring; three brothers, Troy Goins (Joyce) , Joe Goins (Marcella) and Charles Goins (Polly) all of Bee Spring. She is also preceded in death by one son, William “Dink” Wilson and two sisters, Wanita Goins and Dinah Woodall.

Christine was a homemaker, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star # 65 and member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory, two daughters, Anita West (Junior) of Cox’s Creek and Rita Browning (Lynn) of Bardstown; one brother, Willie Victor Hogan (Lois) of Bowling Green; two sisters, Chloie Roof of Mt. Washington and Nancy Hogan of Bardstown; seven grandchildren, Michelle Downs, Donna Browning, Bethany Barnett, Christina Durbin (Sam), Keith Vincent (Dale) and Paula Gravile (Earl); nineteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Vincent; four brothers, Rev. ​Charles Lee Webb, 73, of Brownsville, KY, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on August 24, 1943, to the late Lloyd Bill Webb and Delma Madison Webb. He was married to the late Martha Ann Reed Webb.

Charles was a retired truck driver for Bowling Green Freight.  He was a member of Poplar Springs United Baptist Church, where he was song leader for many years.

William “Dink” Wilson, age 60, of Bee Spring, KY, departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2016 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on May 21, 1956 to the late William “Bill” Conley Wilson and Mary Margaret Goins Wilson, who survives. He was married to Venettia Spinks Wilson, his devoted wife, care-taker and best friend.

Dink retired from General Motors as an electrical maintenance technician. He was a member of Jock United Baptist Church and the Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM.

​Shirley J. Carroll James, 76, of Brownsville passed away at 5:36 AM August 24, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a retired seamstress and housekeeping supervisor at Edmonson Care and Rehab Center and Glenview Health Care, as well as a homemaker and avid doll collector. She was a daughter of the late Herald Carroll and Nora Sanders Carroll. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Murphy and a son, Tom James.
 
Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday.
 
Surviving are her husband, Roger James; two daughters, Sheila VanMeter (Sam) and Laura Kemble (James) both of Brownsville; a son, David James of Brownsville; two brothers, Jimmy Carroll of Scottsville and Billy Carroll of Smiths Grove; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

​Tony Vincent, 72 of Oakland died Monday August 22, 2016 at his residence. 

The Warren County native was a son of the late Claude and Inez Vincent.

She was a seamstress for Turner Industries and was a member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church.

Bernice I. Watt, 86 of Bowling Green died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Signature Health Care.

The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lois Cowles and is preceded in death by a sister, Eliza Dunn; two nephews, Mark and Ronnie Adwell; one niece, Roxie Ann Webb; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Temples.  She was a nurse aide at both the Medical Center and Greenview Regional Hospital.  Bernice was a member of Otter Gap Missionary Baptist Church since May 1, 1949. 

Her survivors include her husband of 70 years, Kenneth Watt; one sister, Ovine Adwell; two brothers-in-law, Wallace Watt (Ann) and Buddy Temples; one sister-in-law, Joyce Elmore (Jimmie); four nieces, Rita Bowles (Jimmy), Renita Skaggs (Joe), Rebecca Butler, Vivian Cline; two nephews, Anthony Elmore (LeeAnn) and Tommy Cherry (Angela); six great nephews, four great nieces; three great great nephews and seven great great nieces; one great great great niece.

​Bob Pippin, age 66, of Mammoth Cave, KY departed this life on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his residence in Mammoth Cave, KY. He was born on June 12, 1950 in Louisville, KY to the late Henry and Doris Thompson Pippin. He was married to Helen Pippin who survives.

Bob retired from Lord Corporation as a press operator and was of the Baptist faith.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army, he was a machinist for Trace Die Cast and was of the Baptist faith.

The Edmonson County native was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Howard Massey and Jewel Faye Webb Massey.

​Reneva Stewart Woosley, age 84, of Bowling Green, KY departed this life on Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence. She was born on June 25, 1932 in Edmonson County, KY to the late Henry Floyd Stewart and Matilda Ann Duvall Stewart. Reneva was the devoted wife to James Mitchell Woosley, who preceded her in death.

Reneva was a homemaker and a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a member of New Home General Baptist Church. In the early 70’s, James and Reneva moved to Bowling Green. They were welcomed by a new church family, Martha’s Chapel General Baptist Church, where she attended until her death.

To honor her memory, she leaves one son Joel Woosley (Pamela) of Alvaton; one daughter Angela Donoho (Neil) of Alvaton; three grandchildren, Jamie Woosley (Amy) of Alvaton, Dana Rocheleau (Matt) of Laguna Niguel, CA and Tyler Donoho of Alvaton; two great-grandchildren, Jamison and Carver Woosley; three brothers, Jack Stewart of Louisville, David Stewart (Barrie) of Bowling Green and Joe Stewart (Linda) of Brownsville, KY; two sisters, Jean Dotson of Auburn and Ann Ford of Millington, TN and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was a cook for Holiday Inn and a member of New Home Baptist Church.

​Betty Sue Blair, age 72 of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born March 7, 1944 to the late Earl Wingfield and Ruby Johnson Wingfield and was married to George Blair, who survives.

She was a child care provider and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church and attended Faith Christian Church.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Sheila Blair Ash of Louisville and Lisa Blair Cary (Finis) of Bowling Green; one son, Eddie Blair of Bowling Green; one sister, Mildred Kinser of Bowling Green and four grandchildren, Megan Cary, Kaytlin Blair, Daniel Blair and Sam Cary. The Jefferson County native was a retired golf course maintenance supervisor. He was a son of the late Roy Anderson Sr. and Sally Jones Anderson and the husband of the late Beverly Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Gary Cole (Paulette) of Cedar Springs, Joe Cole (Mary Alice) of Brownsville and Jimmy Cole (Fiancée Corentha Skaggs) of Chalybeate; nine grandchildren, Reggie Burnett (Eve), Earnie Cole (Carmon), LeaTriece Pozie, Nickey Skaggs (Bradley), Scott Cole (Fiancée Brandy Burkeen), Tucker Cole, Josh Violi, Miranda Whittinghill and Mallory Whittinghill; four brothers, Bobby Cutliff (Mary) of Shelbyville, TN, David Cutliff (Linda) of Glasgow, Phillip Cutliff (Janice) of Oakland and Ronnie Cutliff (Kathy) of Horse Cave; three sisters, Juanita Cole of Cedar Springs, Doris Gleason of Glasgow and Jenny Lawrence (Roland) of Smiths Grove and eighteen great grandchildren.

Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.

​Ida P. Fitts Slack, 88, of Philpot passed away at 1:45 AM Aug. 7, 2016 at Genesis Health Care in Owensboro.
 
The Springfield, TN native was a seamstress retired from Fruit of the Loom and a member of Otter Gap Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Walter Wilson Fitts and Addie Kelly Pardue Fitts and the wife of the late Lloyd Slack.
 
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Otter Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 AM-12:30 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home.
 
Surviving are a son, Joey Blanton (Carolyn) of Otter Gap; a daughter, Denise Beck (Barry) of Philpot; five grandchildren, Wendy Suitrick, Tonya Beck, Dustin Beck, Joseph Blanton and Kara Blanton Decker; 10 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
