Grace Vincent Wood, age 90, of Bee Spring, departed this life Sunday, August 28, 2022 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born February 13, 1932, to the late Jake and Nannie Bunn Meredith Vincent. She was married to Larry Oneal Wood, who preceded her in death.
Grace worked as a homemaker, and tried her best to care for the natural and spiritual needs of her family. She was a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies, which included being a gunsmith, photographer, and a woodworker. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army 100th Training Division, and a member of Beaver Dam United Baptist Church. Dallas was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and served during the Vietnam era. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Pyramid Coal and Stewart and Richey. He was very talented and could draw the most beautiful, realistic portraits. Most importantly, Dallas was a devout family man, true friend and neighbor, and was of the Christian faith. Besides his wife, Mary, he leaves to honor his memory— his sons, Mark Decker (Beth Bowie) of Hendersonville, TN and John Decker (Tammy) of Bethpage, TN; five grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Carson, Amelia and Wyatt Decker, along with several nephews, nieces and cousins. Levi was a student at Edmonson County Middle School, and would have been in 8th grade this year. He was a country boy through and through. He often helped his dad with pets and chickens, and together they’d work with them on a daily basis. As Levi got older, he became more interested in the ATV riding and then dirt bikes, along with other hobbies that boys enjoy. He could shoot trap with a shotgun that would put you to shame. He thoroughly enjoyed his life. His greatest accomplishment was on May 3, 2022, when he found the Lord at Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, and became a member upon baptism. Levi and his dad were both baptized on the same day, June 12, 2022. Besides his parents, Rickey and Felicia, he leaves to honor his memory— his siblings, Chris Holt (Sabrina) of Big Reedy and Brittany Turney (Steven) of Franklin, KY; grandmothers, Mary Willis and Shirley Hampton, along with several uncles, aunts and cousins. Jody was born in Tazewell, Virginia on August 9, 1948 to the late Leon Wilson and Dorothy Lambert Wilson. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Jimmy Wilson. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Jody loved to hunt and fish with his grandchildren and watch them play ball. He was a hard- working farmer that took great pride in his tobacco crops. He loved helping others in need. He was a loving husband of 55 years to Nancy Wilson; loved his sons, Erick Wilson (Michelle) and Patrick Wilson (Melanie); was a devoted grandfather to Erica Vincent (Dex), Chaz Wilson and Bentley Wilson; and his great granddaughter, Aria Vincent. He was preceded in death by a brother, Zach Walters and a great granddaughter, Mila Weddington. He married Brenda in 1956 and they lived in Chalybeate until 2016 when they moved together to be closer to their family in Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter Pamela Wallace; two grandchildren, Justin W. Howell (Mallory), Andrew Howell, and sister Darlene Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lela Wallace and his brothers, Earnest Wallace, and Billy Joe Wallace. Molten worked as a custom cabinetmaker and carpenter. He volunteered as an EMT in Edmonson County's Rescue Squad and was active within the Masonic Lodge. His last moments were serene and was surrounded by those he loved most. The family chose cremation and will hold their own private ceremony. It is requested that in lieu of well wishes, a moment of reflection is observed as a celebration of his life. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Dianna Montgomery and Vera Lee Montgomery and two sisters, Novella Sparks and Betty Dee Lowder.
