Richard Owen Lindsey, 67, of Millwood passed away August 29, 2025 at his residence.

Richard was born in Louisville, Ky. and attended Sunny Point General Baptist Church in earlier years. He began working as a roofer at the young age of seven and this became his occupation. He was self employed with Richard Lindsey Roofing for many years. An avid collector of antiques and artifacts, Richard enjoyed classic cars, especially his “loud” truck and spending time with his family while hunting and fishing. He was the son of the late Walter Lindsey and Grace Irene Higgs Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Grace Lindsey and Michelle Lindsey Neff; a sister, Mary Gayle Johnson; and a brother, James Allen Lindsey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunny Point Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday.

Surviving are a son, Daimien Basham (Crystal) of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Daimien Basham Jr., Regina Basham, Daniel Basham, and Saddie Basham; one great grandchild, Princeton Basham; two sisters, LaGretta Sanchez (Pedro) and Ruby Beckwith; six nieces, Vanessa Sanchez, Selina Kingg, Sonya Slinkard, Krystle Alicea, Jennifer Richardson, and Michelle Brito; three nephews, Pedro Sanchez Jr., Walter Redmon, and Samuel Beckwith Jr.; his best friend, Christopher Key; and his beloved dogs, Lilly and Baby Girl and several extended family members.

Sharon Elaine Halsell, 62, of Mammoth Cave passed away peacefully with her family by her side August 27, 2025, at her residence.

The Edmonson County native was a 1980 graduate of Edmonson County High School, a homemaker, and a faithful member of the Nolin United Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Nelson Smith and Zula Brooks Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Shane Halsell.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 30 at Nolin United Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will take place at 12:00 PM Friday, August 29, at Nolin United Baptist Church until the time of the service.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Danny Halsell; two daughters, Toni Danielle Brown of Mammoth Cave and Amanda King (Tony) of Chalybeate; two sons, Troy Halsell and Colton Halsell ( Holly) both of Mammoth Cave; one sister, Mary Meredith (Dwight) of Mammoth Cave; four brothers, Charles Smith (Martha), Jimmy Smith (Marcia), Ernie Smith (Karen) all of Mammoth Cave and Keith Smith (Melanie) of Horse Cave; 14 grandchildren, Sabbie, Alexis, Carter, Greyson, Bentley, Victoria, Gracie, Sara, Thea, Tucker, Tinsley, Adison, Bennett, and Chloe; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melodie Dawn Harris, age 53

Melodie Dawn Harris, age 53 of Bowling Green, departed this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The Warren County native was born on March 26, 1972 to the late Mary Maybelle Davenport Harris and Winston Harris, who survives.

Melodie spent several years working as a billing assistant for Dr. Kay Saheyta, where she developed lasting friendships. Outside of work, Melodie expressed her creativity through her passion for painting and crafting unique resin artwork, often experimenting with vibrant colors and intricate designs. Her artistic pursuits brought her joy and allowed her to share her creations with friends and family.

Besides her dad, Winston, she leaves to honor her memory— her beloved daughter, Morgan Richardson of Bowling Green and a brother, Jack Reynolds of Alvaton. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Mark and Tony Medel.

Anthony Paul Cherry, age 57

Anthony Paul Cherry, age 57 of Mount Hermon, KY, was surrounded by his family when he departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2025 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Barren County native was born on June 9, 1968 to the late George Cherry and Mary Ann Oliver. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Misti Phipps England Cherry, who survives.

Anthony traveled the highways for many years as a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Caveland Baptist Church, a place where he found solace and peace. His greatest joy was his family, whom he cherished above all. His enthusiasm for life was matched by his deep passion for Peterbilt semi trucks. He would light up at the sight of a beautifully dressed-up Peterbilt, sharing his excitement with those around him. Anthony found inspiration in the outdoors, endlessly tinkering and creating, always eager to start new projects and see where his curiosity led. Whether attending truck and tractor pulls, riding dirt bikes, four wheelers, or his Harley Davidson, he embraced every adventure with a smile. Anthony’s energy and love for life inspired those who knew him to follow their passions and treasure every moment.

Besides his wife, Misti, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Kayti Cherry (Zack Young), Tanner Cherry, all of Glasgow, Isabella “Izzie” Cherry and Houston Price, both of Hodgenville, Kaleb England of Hendersonville, TN and McKenzie England (William Shockley) of Edmonton; grandchildren, Corbyn, Saylor and Sophie Young and Elania, Kendall and Conway Shockley; bonus mother, Judy Cherry; brother, Eric Cherry (Dawn) of Glasgow; aunts, Phylis Nunn (Steve) and Linda Green and mother-in-law, Martha Phipps, along with a nephew, several nieces and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his bonus father, James “Jimmy” Oliver, Jr.; granddaughter, Saylem Young; paternal grandparents, Mac and Edna Cherry; maternal grandparents, Chris and Virginia Green; uncle, Joe Green; cousin, Jody Green and father-in-law, William “Butch” Phipps.

The interment will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Danny Keith Tibbs, age 75 of Cave City, departed this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at his residence. The Barren County native was born on December 18, 1949, to the late Virginia Nell Perkins and Denny and Runell Tibbs. He was married to his devoted wife and best friend, Bonnie Adwell Tibbs.

Danny retired after a dedicated career as a truck driver for Ryder Trucking. In his retirement, he found joy in spending time with friends, sharing stories, and restoring antique cars, a passion he thoroughly enjoyed. Danny was also a member of the Shady Grove Church of Christ.

Besides his wife Bonnie, he leaves to honor his memory—his children, Allen England (Honey) and Shelley Tibbs Thomas, all of Cave City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Michael Furlong (Robin) of Summer Shade and Deena Brown (Michael) of Martinsville and sisters-in-law, Teresa Furlong of Summer Shade, Jean Bale (David), Brenda Cline and Shirley Horton (Charles) all of Cave City. He was also preceded in death by his son, Joey Tibbs; siblings, Barry Furlong, Larry L. Crumpton and Sheila Youngblood; grandparents, R.A. “John” and Lucille Barrett and brother-in-law, Richard Youngblood.

The interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.

James Westly McCrady, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. Born on July 26, 1942, to Serelda and Wren McCrady, James lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to family and friends.

James proudly served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a long career as a truck driver. Known for his warm heart and larger-than-life personality, he never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. A lifelong fan of the University of Kentucky, James cheered on the Wildcats with unmatched enthusiasm.

James is survived by his daughters, Yavonda Waddell and Dana Fryrear (Todd); his cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Sophie, and Zoey; his dear friend, Betty Beach; and a host of extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward with love. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara McCrady, and his son, Chris McCrady.

James will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his sense of humor, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.

James. A. “Jimmy” Lindsey, age 75 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on November 4, 1949 to the late Johnnie and Leslie Lindsey.

Jimmy served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era. He later worked and retired as a trackman from L&N Railroad, formerly CSX, and was a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmy had a real passion for Nascar races, UK basketball games, and watching old westerns, especially when he could relax with his favorite snack— twinkies. He was always quick with a smile and loved sharing stories and visiting with friends and family.
He leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Kerrie Graviss (Chris) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Alex Hayes (Dustin) and Pete “Buzzy” Tarantino (Amber Flowers), all of Bowling Green; two great-grandchildren, Easton and McKinley Hayes; siblings, Buster Lindsey (Marcia) and Ronnie Lindsey, all of Lindseyville, along with several nieces and nephews. Steven Page, age 76 of Park City, departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on February 7, 1949 to the late Earl and Elizabeth Page. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Sandy Clark Page, who survives.

After dedicating many years to his trade, Steven retired as a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting model, Corvette cars, a hobby that reflected his lifelong appreciation for unique craftsmanship and design. He also found relaxation in coloring, a simple pastime that brought him peace.

Besides his wife, Sandy, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Chantel Page of Cave City, Andrea Page of Park City and Carla Hernandez of Morgantown; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four siblings, Judie Page, Roy Page (Amanda), Ray Page (Margret) and Audrey Sanders; sisters-in-law, Delorse Thurman (Tony), Norma Johnson (Jeff), Michelle Sackett (Jon) and Melissa Johnson (Daniel), along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen Haynes, age 59 of Leitchfield, departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2025. The Grayson County native was born on October 8, 1965 to the late Gene and Edna Lindsey Haynes.

Mary was a cheerful cashier at Walmart who treated her customers and coworkers like family. She was a proud member of Radiant Church in Millwood and loved attending services there. In her downtime, she enjoyed playing games on her phone and absolutely adored spoiling her grandchildren.

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Martha McGuffin (Tony) of Leitchfield, Donna Johnson (Jessie) of Glasgow, Vonnie Lindsey (Brian) of Leitchfield, Crystal Embry of Cave City, Justin Winchell (Noelle) of Leitchfield, Walter Winchell of Leitchfield, Joseph Lindsey of Caneyville and Braxton Haynes of Leitchfield; ten grandchildren and siblings, Willodean Cross, Charles Haynes (Leona), Darrell Glenn (Missy), Debbie Haynes and Donna Riggs. Robert Louis Wilson, age 88 of Cave City, departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on November 21, 1936 to the late Elbert and Pauline Hatcher Wilson. He was married to his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Elsie Johnson Wilson, who survives.

Robert bravely served our country in the U.S. Army, completing his duty with honor and dedication. He was a member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church, where he built lasting friendships. After a 40 year career as a supervisor with Houchens Industries, he retired to relax and enjoy more time with his family. In his free time, he loved to play golf, and spent countless hours tending to his yard work, cultivating a beautiful lawn and flowers.

Besides his wife, Elsie, he leaves to honor his memory— his son, Glenn Wilson (Tracy) of Glasgow; grandchildren, Amy Payne (Josh), Anthony Wilson (Jenny), Brandon Wilson (Amber), Richard Wilson, Aaron Wilson and Michael Wilson; several great-grandchildren, and a brother, Philip Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Louis Wilson and brothers, James and Stanley Wilson.

The interment will be in Cave City Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Barren County DAV.

Danzel Clemmons, age 78 of Brownsville, departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on February 1, 1947 to the late James Floyd and Clara Mae Johnson Lindsey. She was married to her devoted husband of fifty-nine years, Larry Clemmons, who survives.

Danzel retired as a custodian from Edmonson County Schools, where her love for the children made a lasting impact. With a passion for cooking and quilting, she created not just meals and crafts, but memories to cherish. Time spent with family brought her the greatest joy! She was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, Larry, she leaves to honor her memory— her sons, Junior Clemmons (Teresa) of Pig and Chad Clemmons (Leslie) of Brownsville; grandchildren, Shane Doyel (Kristin), Colten Clemmons (Ginnie), Nick Clemmons, Clay Clemmons and Presley Kendall; great-grandchildren, Hallie Ashley, Layne Ashley, Cade Clemmons, Stevie Rose, Lily and Lena Doyel; siblings, Mary Lee, Clifford Lindsey, Ernie Lindsey and Ramona Durham (Calvin), along with special caregivers, Betty Vincent and Anna Haynes. Lucille W. Keown, 86, of Cedar Springs passed away peacefully with family by her side Aug. 3, 2025 at Hospice House in Bowling Green. 

The Bullitt County native was a retired Mammoth Cave Concessions employee, a homemaker and a member of Faith Assembly in Smiths Grove. She was a daughter of the late Ester Lee Walls and Ruth Branham Walls and the wife of the late Sherman Keown Sr. She was preceded in death by all of her seven sisters and eight brothers.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lambert Cemetery. Visitation will take place 3:00-7:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday. 

Surviving are two children, Sherman Keown Jr. (Angie) of Bowling Green and Shirley Ledford of Cedar Springs; three grandchildren, Sherman Lee Keown (Megan) of Cub Run, Seth Lee Keown (Ashley) and McKenzie Keown both of Bowling Green; and five great grandchildren, Hunter, Lyla, Finn, Jonah and Noah.
