​Buddy Kevin Vincent, age 52, of Big Clifty, formerly of Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Owensboro Health. The Edmonson County native was born on June 16, 1974, to the late Bud and Evelyn Elmore Vincent. He shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Callie Jo Vincent, until she was called home to be with the Lord. Though separated by death, their love remained a lasting testimony of the life they built together.

Buddy Kevin never met a stranger! With his warm smile, generous heart, and easygoing spirit, he had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like a friend. He was well known and deeply loved throughout the community, and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression on countless lives. A graduate of Edmonson County High School, Buddy Kevin believed in serving others. He volunteered in years past with the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Edmonson County Lions Club, giving back to the community that had given so much to him. For many years, he owned and operated Little Bud's Bait and Tackle, where customers often came as much for the fellowship and conversation as they did for fishing supplies. He also treasured the years he spent working alongside his friends, Joel and Barbara Davis and the Green River Canoe family, creating memories and friendships that would endure for a lifetime.

Buddy Kevin's faith was also very important to him, and means more today than ever.  He was saved as a young boy at Anneta United Baptist Church, after hearing the gospel from Bro. Willard Saltsman.  He was baptized, joined the church, and remained a member there until he left for his heavenly home.  

He leaves to cherish his memory-- his uncle, Michael Elmore (Hilda); his special mother-in-law, Donna Nunn; his sister-in-law, Janie Broughton (Stanley); and his nephew, Ison Broughton, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives were made richer by knowing him.  Besides his beloved wife and parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Perry and Lola Mae Vincent and George and Valerie Elmore; and his aunts and uncles, Riley Elmore, James Elmore, Nelsie Whobery, Louise Williams, and Alice Williams.

​Brenda Lee Conley, age 83, of Brownsville, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, August 2, 2026. An Edmonson County native, Brenda was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Noel and Hannah Ashley Vincent. Brenda was blessed to share life's journey with her best friend and devoted husband, Johny Wayne Conley, whose love and companionship remained steadfast through the years. 

Brenda dedicated many years of her working life to PBI Bank, where she served as a loan processor and teller before retiring. She considered it a privilege to help others, and her kindness and compassionate nature were evident in every interaction. Whether helping customers at the bank or visiting with her church family, friends or neighbors, Brenda had a special way of making people feel valued and loved. 

As long as her health allowed, Brenda remained a devoted member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church, where her beautiful alto voice became a cherished part of the church choir, as well as the Madison Brothers Quartet. Music was one of God's greatest gifts to Brenda, and she faithfully used that gift to bless others throughout her life. For many years, Brenda joined her precious mom, dad, brother, and sister in sharing the beautiful hymn, "Footprints in the Sands of Time," a family tradition that reflected their deep faith and love for the Lord. Like the beloved hymn, Brenda left footprints that will continue to guide and inspire future generations for many years to come.

Besides her beloved husband, Johny, she leaves to cherish her memory-- her siblings, Jack Vincent (Patty) of Mt. Washington and Karen Franklin of Bowling Green, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved as her own. While Brenda's family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they find comfort in knowing they'll one day be reunited in that heavenly choir.

Poplar Spring United Baptist Church

​Nettie Fields, 63, of Brownsville passed away August 1, 2026 at her home.
 
The Barren County native was a daughter of the late Verna Katherine Coomer and was a homemaker. Nettie enjoyed playing computer games and was an active Facebook user. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Misty Dawn Wright and several brothers and sisters.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bee Spring Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday.
 
Surviving are her husband, Louis Poteet; two daughters, Robin Russell of Scottsville and Stephanie Bunch (Craig) of Summer Shade; a son, Steve Fields (Janelle) of Indiana; a step son, Tony Darnell (Cassandra) of Richardsville; three brothers, James Fields (Joanie) and John Fields (Jennifer) both of Glasgow and Jerry Fields (Mattie) of Temple Hill; a sister, Patricia Fancher (Gary) of Center; 12 grandchildren, Shaina Russell, Tiffany Finley, Gabriel Russell, Jenna Fay Bunch, Robert Evan Bunch, Brayton Lee Fields, Robert Grissom, Elijah Lucas, Aydan Fields, Marcus Steven Ireland, Emily Jo Ireland and Wyatt Alexander Darnell; and five great grandchildren.
