Larry D. Vincent, 76, of Brownsville passed away at 3:43 AM Thursday Sept. 25, 2018 at Edmonson Center.
The Edmonson County native was a chef and a member of Sunny Point General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Balus Vincent and Estell Duvall Vincent. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Teresia Vincent, Donna Wilson and Vernice King; and three brothers, Greg Vincent, Terry Vincent and Phillip Vincent. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunny Point Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8 Thursday and 9-11 Friday. Surviving are two brothers, Rondal Vincent and Ricky Vincent; five sisters, Barbara Vincent (Ferrell), Delores (Dee) Wilson, Jan Campbell (Skip) Venetta Webb (Donald) and Shelia Meredith (Martin); and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Wilma retired from Jefferson County Board of Education as an accountant. She was saved at the age of thirteen at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death. She was born on August 16, 1936 in Sunfish, KY, the daughter of the late William Harvey and Cicly Hayes Stewart. She retired as a sewing machine operator, working there for over 30 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and all children. She was a member of the Independence Slate Bank General Baptist Church since 1982. She is survived by her children, Timmy Johnson of Brownsville, Tammy Kay Blair (Tim Brewster) of Ollie, and Kathy Sue Dennis (Damon) of Sunfish; seven grandchildren, Heather Yokum, Nicholas Blair, Ryan, Kevin, and Michael Johnson, Savannah Roof and Courtney Decker; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William Earl Stewart of South, sisters, Jeanetta Hardin and Cora Meredith both of Louisville, and Rosanna White of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
