Danny Spainhoward, age 82 of Sweeden, KY  departed this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his son’s residence.  The Edmonson County native was born on April 2, 1940 to the late Rev. Norman and Flora Lindsey Spainhoward.  He was married to his devoted wife of thirty-two years, Brenda Kaye Johnson Spainhoward, who also preceded him in death in 1990. 

Danny was saved as a young man, and was the first of his family to join Brownsville General Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his passing.  Danny retired after working many years in the maintenance department at American Sunroof Company.  Prior to that, he had worked for Brownsville Garment Company and Firestone. 

He leaves to honor his memory— his children, Terry Spainhoward (Janice) of Bee Spring, Jerry Spainhoward (Marsha) of Brownsville and Flora Ellen Jones of Murfreesboro, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Terry Lee Spainhoward (Keisha), Nick Spainhoward (Maryjane), Diana Lindsey (John), Marcie Hack (Brandon), Jeremy Spainhoward (Maria), Sarah Griffith (Tyler), Michael Jones, Matthew Jones, Scotty Pilkenton, Cody Pilkenton (Amanda), Jonathan Vincent (Chasey), Brenda Jean Vincent and Tyler Russell; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Lewade Spainhoward (Vicki) of Scottsville, Johnny Spainhoward (Pam) of Glasgow and Vertran Spainhoward (Linda) of Lindseyville, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Wanda Kay McCrady, 59, of Brownsville passed away Sept. 23, 2022 at Hopkins Center in Woodburn.
 
The Pike County native was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a daughter of the late Billy Robinette and Sadie Maynard Robinette. She was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Stewart and two brothers, Gregory Robinette and Zack Walters.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday.

Beverly Murley, age 67 of Brownsville, departed this life on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Edmonson Center in Brownsville.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 24, 1955 to Melba Vincent and the late Rev. Jake Vincent.
Beverly was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church.

Besides her mother, Melba, she leaves to honor her memory— two sisters, Melissa Vincent (Johnny) of Chalybeate and Kathy Sue Spinks of Bowling Green; brother-in-law, Gary Phillips; niece and nephews, Rachel Smith (Stofer), Shawn Phillips (Jen), Bryant Phillips (LeAnn), Dakota Vincent and Derek Spinks; great-nieces and nephews, Bailey Phillips (Jose), Taylor Phillips, Cole Phillips (Miranda), Tyler Phillips, Tate Phillips, Brandon McKay Spinks and Hayden Browning; great-great niece and nephew, Jacey Grey Phillips and Jameson Canchola and special friend, Derek Hale.   Besides her dad, she was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Brandon Murley, and two siblings, Randy Vincent and Norma Jean Phillips.

Marilyn Dunklau Wilson, age 69 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.  The Warren County native was born on May 29, 1953 to the late Henry James and Joanne Louise Robertson Dunklau.  She was married to her husband, Todd Wilson, who survives. 

Marilyn worked and retired as a surgical technician for the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was a  member of  the Park City Chapter of Eastern Star #128  and Mt. Zion United Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, Todd, she leaves to honor her memory—four dughters, Tina Perry of Springfield, TN, Tammie Perry (Andrew Gribbin) of Elizabethtown, Julie Harder (Verlon) of Bee Spring, and April Lindsey (David) of Chalybeate; a son, Luke Wilson (Brianne) of Bee Spring; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Susan Denton, Nancy English, and Patty Pohl (Donny); a brother, Buddy Dunklau; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Harold Hazelip, 92, of Nashville passed away at 1:00 AM Sept. 21, 2022 at his home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a minister, a member of Green Hills Church of Christ, served as speaker for the Herald of Truth television series from 1971 through 1992, dean of Harding School of Theology in Memphis 1972-86, president of Lipscomb University in Nashville 1986-97, after which he served as chancellor and president emeritis at Lipscomb. He was a son of the late Herbert Hazelip and Maggie Ferguson Hazelip. He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Lawrence Hazelip, Raymond Hazelip, Woodrow Hazelip, Edna Lewis, Ruth Duvall, Charlotte Willison, Marie Hazelip, Eva Douglas and an infant brother.
 
A public memorial service was hosted by Green Hills Church of Christ on Saturday. Private services were held Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home. Burial took place in New Liberty Cemetery.
 
Surviving are his wife, Helen; two sons, Pat Hazelip (Angela) and Jeff Hazelip (Cheryl); six grandchildren, Amanda Binkley (Braden), Colby Hazelip, Patrick Hazelip, Andrew Hazelip and Philip Hazelip (Ally); and five great grandchildren, Daniel, Eli, Olivia, Sophie and Ava.

Wilma K. Phelps of Roundhill, KY passed away at Christian Healthcare Center in Bowling Green, with family at her side on Thursday, September 22, 2022.  She was 97 years old.

Born to the late Estill and Trula Toms Keown, Wilma is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Nicholas Phelps.  She is survived by her cherished children Terry Phelps and his wife Dr. Vicky Lease of Bowling Green and Sharri Phelps-Womble and her husband Dr. Phillip C. Womble of Cottontown, TN; her dear sister Reva K. Stevens of Bowling Green and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Wilma retired after more than 30 years working as a Teacher’s Aide and School Secretary with the Butler County Board of Education for the 4th District school.  She loved caring for the schoolchildren and never missed an opportunity to extend her kindness to someone in need. Raised on a farm in Butler County, KY, Wilma was passionate about gardening and caring for her pets. She lived through many decades of change and was one to keep up with the times.  In her spare time, you could find her enthralled in a challenging crossword puzzle or spending time with her family.

The family of Ms. Wilma K. Phelps would like to sincerely thank the caring staff of Hosparus as well as the nurses and staff at Christian Healthcare Center for their dedicated time and caring devotion.

James Dale “Crawfish” Crawford, age 62 of Sweeden, departed this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. The Louisville native was born on June 14, 1960 to  Maybell Reed Crawford and the late Charles Clayton Crawford. He was married to his wife, Tammy Vincent Crawford, who survives. 

He was a truck driver and throughout the years he drove for B&D, Overnite Transportation, American Freightways and FedEx Freight.  He was a member of the Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, Tammy, and his mother, Maybell, he leaves to honor his memory -- his son, Shiloah Britten Crawford (Andra) of Scottsville; three daughters, Misti Dawn Crawford of Russellville, Heather Nicole Crawford (Jeremiah) of Roundhill, and Shana Beth Crawford of Sweeden; five grandchildren, Ba’Lee Renea Crawford, Hannah Leighona Berry, Hadley Shianne Crawford, Maxton Grey Crawford and Adela Plum Chrisley; one brother, Ronnie Crawford (Patricia) of Chalybeate; and four nieces and three nephews. Carol Gillett Raymer, 82, of Smiths Grove passed away at 10:57 AM Sept. 20, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Union Beach, NJ native was a homemaker and a pharmacy technician. She was a daughter of the late Theodore Gillett and Laura Panghorn Gillett. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Teddy Gillett and Brian Gillett and a sister, Audrey Gillett Conroy.
 
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are her husband, Leonard Raymer; a son, Michael Fowler (Cynthia Stanley) of Burnsville, NC; two daughters, Peggy Miller (Chad) of Lake Worth, FL and Sabrina Barndollar of Boynton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Briana Barndollar, Ryan Barndollar, Brock Miller and Kellan Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Kai Mead and Callie Mead.

Faye Skaggs, age 75 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2022 in Nashville, TN.  The Hart County native was born on August 23, 1947 to the late Joe and Pearline Sanders Dennis.  She was married for fifty-four years to her devoted husband and help mate, Barry Skaggs, who survives. 

Faye worked for many years as a seamstress.  She was saved as a young girl on August 5, 1961 at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church.  She later joined Midway United Baptist Church, where she remained a member until the Lord called her home. 

Besides her husband, Barry, she leaves to honor her memory— her son, Gregory Skaggs (Melissa) of Bowling Green; her grandson, David Paul Skaggs of Bowling Green; two brothers, Michael Dennis (Pam) of Horse Cave and Ricky Dennis of Munfordville; four sisters, Brenda Pannell (Billy) of Munfordville, Cathy Goldsmith of Munfordville, Patsy Fulkerson of Glasgow and Jeanie Rucker (Ricky) of Munfordville, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Tommy and David Dennis and Linda Rucker.

Bruce Graham, age 60 of Pine Grove, departed this life on September 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born on May 8, 1962 in Edmonson County, KY to the late James Fuller and Violet Lorene Poteet Graham. He was married to Tammy Graham for almost 42 years, who survives.

Bruce was a retired maintenance supervisor for Fruit of the Loom, who enjoyed farming. He was a member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— his two sons, Jeremy Graham (Ashley) of Mohawk and Jared Graham of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Hannah and Chloe Graham; four siblings; Wilma Lay (Aubrey), Wanda Graham, Karen Jaggers (Terry) and Randy Graham (Karen) all of Pine Grove; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Harold and Cecil Graham, and one sister, Kathy Lindsey.

Levenia Bledsoe, age 88, of New Grove, departed this life Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. The Edmonson County native was born August 22, 1934 to the late Paul and Lola Doyle Cassady.  She was married to her devoted husband, Noah Bledsoe, who preceded her in death on July 15, 2017.

Levenia retired after working for many years as a sales associate for J.C. Penney.  She was a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to honor her memory, her family that she adored--  her children. Ronald David “Ron” Bradford, 82, of Sweeden passed away at 5:52 PM Sept. 5, 2022 at Edmonson Center in Brownsville.
 
The Jefferson County native was a commercial realtor for Coldwell Banker, a district manager for several businesses and a member of Community Church at Cedar Springs. He was a son of the late Joseph Elbert Bradford and Dorothy Brock Bradford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dara Kay Bradford; two brothers, Sonny Bradford and Buddy Bradford; and two sisters, Darlene Dunn and Lillian Gerrior.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday.

Tom Marsh, age 75 of Bee Spring, peacefully departed this life with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. The Jersey City, New Jersey native was born on March 25, 1947 to the late George and Theresa Fitzpatrick Marsh. He was married to his best friend, devoted wife and help mate of fifty-three years, Patricia Lamar Marsh, who survives. 

Tom owned Marsh Trucking, and retired after many years of driving for himself, as well as Atlas Trucking Company and Alexander’s Moving and Storage.  While driving across the Arizona desert, Tom found the Lord and was saved in his semi truck.  He came back home to Kentucky, proclaimed what the Lord had done for him and united himself with Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until his passing. 

Besides his wife, Patricia, he leaves to honor his memory his family whom he adored--his daughters, Tonya Marsh-McGrew (Bobby), Kelly Marsh Rich (Joey) and Amanda Jo Morton (Michael “Crowder”) of Bee Spring; his grandchildren, Justin Goins (Kasy), Madison Phelps (Alex), Cash and Caroline Morton; his siblings, Jimmy Marsh (Barbara), Charlie Marsh (Annie) and Jackie Chevalier (Harry), along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Georgie Marsh.

Clarence Whitaker, 75, of Bee Spring passed away at 1:25 PM Sept. 4, 2022 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Grayson County native was a farmer, a coal miner, a lineman, a US Army Vietnam veteran and a member of Christian Home General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Lonnie Whitaker and Nancy Saltsman Whitaker and the husband of the late Billie Jane Vincent Whitaker. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leah Whitaker.

Lawrence “Bunny” Simmons, age 85 of Wingfield, departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2022 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.  The Edmonson County native was born on March 11, 1937 to the late James W. and Sallie Hawks Simmons.  He was married to his best friend and devoted wife of fifty-three years, Geraldine Elmore Simmons, who survives. 

Bunny was a United States Army veteran, and retired from Asbestos Wood Manufacturing, after working many years in construction.  He was a member of the Wingfield Volunteer Fire Department. 

Besides his wife, Geraldine, he leaves to honor his memory— two daughters, Carol Sue Copas (Tony) of Austin, KY and Julie Anne Stewart (Jimmy) of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Kayla Simmons and Cody Briar Copas; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Simmons and Nova Simmons and two brothers, James Simmons (Jean) of Chalybeate and Bennie “Buck” Simmons of Wingfield.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie, Raymond, Guy “Tootle”, Roy “Noots”, J.C. and Ernest Simmons and his sister, Delphia Buchanan.

Jeffrey Dewayne Netherton, 37, of Bowling Green passed away Sept. 2, 2022 at his home.
 
The Warren County native was a repossession agent. He was a son of the late J.R. Netherton and Janie Crain Netherton of Bowling Green, who survives.

Reverend Billy Duke Campbell, 89, of Louisville passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Billy was born November 3, 1932 in Brownsville, KY. to his late parents Robert and Marie (Lindsey) Campbell. He is also preceded in death by his four sisters, Ruth, Leona, Eva and Georgia; three brothers, Ray, Ben, and Howell.

He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during Korea and retired from the Enro Shirt Company. He was a member of Campbells United Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Pamela (Maynard) Campbell; three children, Cynthia Campbell, Jackie Baumgardner and Robert Campbell; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
