 Bonnie Jo Gipson Anderson, age 69, of Chalybeate, KY, departed this life on Friday, October 24, 2014, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born March 1, 1945 in Brownsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Vergil W. Gipson and the late Leone Campbell Gipson. She was assembly line worker for Nylon Craft Corp. and a member of Pleasant Union Unirted Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son , Ricky Carroll and wife Jeanette, Bowling Green, KY; grandson, Chad Carroll (Taylor) of Glasgow, KY; granddaughter, Lauren Carroll of Brownsville, KY; two step grandchildren, Jacob Logsdon (Savannah) of Park City, KY, and Brooke Logsdon of Columbia, KY; five great grandchildren; special friend, Rick Wolcott of Smiths Grove, KY. The Cave City native was born August 11, 1933 to the late David Doyle and the late Ola Mae Doyle and the wife of the late Amburs “Curly” Sexton. She is survived by one son Gary Wayne Sexton of Frankfort, IL; three daughters, Debra Kay Nigro, Tinley Park IL, Rebecca Gail Kubart (Thomas) of Crown Point, IN, Marsha Habinka, Orland Park, IL; two step sons, Jerry Sexton, Richard Sexton, seven grandchildren, Brian Sexton, (Stacy), Tom Kubart, Jr. (April), Brian Habinka (Liz), Jon Nigro, Jennifer Kubart, Jessica Ullstam (Greg), Jacqueline Kubart; three great grandchildren, Brandon Sexton, Nathan Sexton, Brett Ullstam; two brothers, Stanley Doyle (Joyce) and Phillip Doyle (Wanda) both of Cave City, KY. Born Saturday, April 16, 1938 in Warren Co., Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Cole and the late Helen Cowles Cole. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Davis.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Regina K. Meredith (Larry) and Jody Jaggers (Tommy) both of Pine Grove, KY; one sister, Dorothy A. The Barren County native was born on January 23, 1932 to the late Roger Lee and Ella Jewell Vance Lobb and was the husband of Eleanor Lobb of Park City He was a farmer, oil man and a truck driver. He served in the Marines and was of the Baptist faith.
He is also survived by three daughters, Becky Lynch (Melvin) of Johnson City, TN, Sandra Parker (Carlie) of Bon Ayr and Lisa Hall (Brent) of White House, TN; one brother, Roland Lobb (Aileen) of Glasgow; one sister, Willa Dean Brown of Park City; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Leon Lobb. Services will be officiated by Elder Brent Hall and Elder Jim Hunt with burial in the Rocky Hill Cemetery. The Barren County native, who transplanted to Bee Spring in 1986, was a concrete finisher, an army veteran and a member of Providence General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late J.T. Pruitt and Nancy Gwendolyn Warf Pruitt. Funeral will be at 1 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home.... Visitation will be 2-9 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday. Surviving are his wife, Mitzi Lashley Pruitt; two daughters, Amber Pruitt and C.J. Tammy Jaggers Duncan, 49, of Sweeden passed away at 7:38 PM Oct. 12, 2014.
The Edmonson County native was a former assistant librarian at the Edmonson County Public Library, an Edmonson Co. Schools bus monitor, a member of ECHS Baseball, Baketball and Sofball Boosters and a member of Hill Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of Freddie and Truley Sanders Jaggers of Sweeden, who survive. Funeral will be at 11 AM Friday at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Zettie P. Wingfield, 89 of Wingfield, KY passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in Elizabethtown, KY. The Edmonson Co., KY native was born November 1, 1924 to the late Robert John and Sarah Ellen Jones Poteet and was the wife of the late Jesse Haskel Wingfield. She was an assembly line worker for Firestone, a WWII Army veteran and a member of the American Legion and Penns Chapel Church of Christ.
She is survived by two brothers, Mitchel Poteet (Sharon LaBeau-Poteet) of Salem, MO. and Kenneth Poteet (Sharon) of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Alma Wingfield and Amy Bielicki (Gene) both of St. Louis, MO and Vicki Hader-Maskow of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Angel Juliano (Scott) and Travis Wingfield both of Texas and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Wingfield. Burial will be in the Wingfield Church Cemetery with military honors at the graveside. She was a daughter of the late Dola Turner and Mayme Eadens Turner and the wife of the late George Jessie Whittaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Galen Whitaker; two sisters, Sylvia Lamastus and Bonnie Turner; and two brothers, Reginald Raymer and Billy Lamastus. Graveside service will be 1 PM Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. No visitation is scheduled. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. James Weldon "Gordy" Houchin, 69, of Brownsville passed away Oct. 2, 2014 at his residence.
The Edmonson County native was a disabled US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a Baptist. He was a son of the late Fred Thomas Houchin and Delphia Grubbs Houchin. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Freddy Houchin, Garnett Houchin and Woody Houchin. Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday.
