Danny L. Carroll, 70, of Bowling Green, KY departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his residence.  The Edmonson County native was born May 13, 1945 to the late Harlan and Dora Saltsman Carroll. 

He was a consumer advocate for Life Skills and a member of Unity General Baptist Church.  

He is survived by one son, John Clyde Carroll; one sister, Emmogene Coulter of Bee Spring; three brothers, Denny Carroll of Mammoth Cave, Lanny Carroll and Billy Carroll  both  of Bee Spring; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Interment will be in New Salem Church Cemetery.

Erma Brooks Vincent, age 75, of Bee Spring, KY departed this life on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in  Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born July 27, 1940 to the late Arlie and Iva Hunt Brooks. She was the devoted wife of fifty-eight years to Elro L. “Tranze” Vincent, whom survives.

She was a housewife and a member of Jock United Baptist Church.  Erma adored her family and found greatest pleasure in caring for her children, their wives and her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Timothy L. Vincent (Cynthia) of Bee Spring, KY; John E. Vincent (Melissa) of Smiths Grove, KY and Nicholas Shawn Vincent of Bee Spring, KY; two brothers, Sammy Brooks and Chester Brooks (Judy) both of Bee Spring, KY; two sisters, Christine Brooks (Porter) of Bee Spring, KY and Oleta Hill of Anneta, KY; five grandchildren, Wesley Brooks Vincent, Jordan Leigh Vincent, Dakota Vincent, Andrew Vincent and Isaiah Vincent and one great grandchild, Ariana Marie Toms.

Interment will be in Jock United Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Malcolm Doyle and Bro. Jason Alexander officiating the services.

​Edna  Frances Hawkins, age 98, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. She was a homemaker and a member of Ninth & O Baptist Church. 

She was the daughter of the late Samuel Rowlett Buckner and the late Virgie Pearl Moss Buckner. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Freeman Hawkins and a son James Donald Hawkins and a great great granddaughter, Kimberly Taylor.

She is also survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Houk, Bowling Green, KY; one son, Gary Wayne Hawkins and wife Kristine; four grandchildren, Deborah Foster and husband Glenn, Michael Wilson and wife Kimberly, Lisa Vincent and husband Richard, Stephanie Boles and husband Brad; eight great grandchildren, Jason Taylor and wife Ashley, Zachary Vincent, Kaitlyn Vincent, Rachel Wilson, Nicholas Boles, Brandon Vincent, Moses Wilson, Jacob Wilson; five great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2015.  Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2015 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Locke officiating. Interment will be at Pearl Webb Cemetery, Canmer, KY.

Rita F. Poteet, age 66, of Brownsville, KY passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Louisville. The Grayson County native was born February 27, 1949 the daughter of the late Willard Logsdon and Audrey South Logsdon of Springhill, Fl. She was married to Roy Dennis Poteet, whom survives.

She was a factory worker for Country Oven and a member of South Union General Baptist Church .

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by one son, John Christopher Poteet (Shae) of Scottsville, KY; two sisters, Carol Ann Poston (Ron) of Springhill, FL and Marilyn Meredith (Gary) of Mt. Washington, KY; one half sister, Kathy McClain of McAllister, OK; one granddaughter, Haley Poteet of Smith Grove, KY and two step granddaughters, Hannah and Ella Rickard both of Scottsville, KY.

Interment will be in Midway Church Cemetery.

Kenneth Dwayne Clark, age 44, of Brownsville, KY, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Nashville at Vanderbilt Hospital.

He was born on August 29, 1971 in Louisville, KY, the son of Kenny Clark and Terri Probus Gibson.

Dwayne was a member of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green. Dwayne graduated from Western Kentucky University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2001 and his MAE in 2008. He was a teacher for the Edmonson County School District for 15 years. Dwayne was a wonderful and loving son, husband, father, brother and teacher. Dwayne enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, golf, and basketball. Dwayne touched the lives of everyone he knew. His legacy will continue in his family and all of the young children he helped inspire throughout his career.

Dwayne is survived by his parents Terri Gibson (Bob Debiak) of Lewisport, KY and Kenny Clark of Leitchfield, KY. He also leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Vicki Hughes Clark, two daughters, Kayla Clark and her fiancé, Alex Shobe of Bowling Green, KY; Kelcy Clark and her fiancé , Chase Duvall of Brownsville; and a son Keaton Clark of Brownsville. He is also survived by two sisters, Lisa Miller (Gary McClure) (Kendrea--her daughter Isabella, Kourtney, Savannah) all from Leitchfield, Crissy Beavers (Brittany, Landon, Ashley, Dakota) of Elizabethtown, KY, a brother, Jonathan Beavers (Tori Reynolds) and his children (Hunter, Rylan, and Aiden) from Elizabethtown, Mother in law, Sue Hughes of Bowling Green and Father in law, Carroll Hughes also of Bowling Green. Several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his loving Grandmothers, Margaret Dermitt and Dorothy Clark; Grandfathers, Hardin Probus and Clinton Clark, his brother, Jeffery Beavers, and his Uncle Wayne Probus.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 15, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Pastor Steve Ayers will be officiating. Place of rest will be the Hopewell Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

​Freddie E. Keown 69 of Smiths Grove formerly of Louisville died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.

The Edmonson County native was a son of the late James Shirley and Corene Elizabeth Howard Keown and preceded in death by a step daughter, Teresa Rhoton, a brother Sherman Keown and a sister, Sharon Cole.  He was a machinist at C. Lee Cook Airtomic Divistion, a member of New Liberty Methodist Church, a volunteer fireman in Hardinsburg, IN and the machinist union. 

His survivors include his wife Brenda Sue Bates Keown; two daughters, Lisa Loveall (David) and Michele Boone (Jeff); two grandchildren, Anthony Doran and Gracie Boone; two brothers, Larry Keown (Judy Lee) and Jerry Keown (Cherman); one sister, Darlene Marie Rose (Ricky) and numerous niece and nephews.

Albert Raleigh Salley, age 85, of Park City departed this life on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born on March 26, 1930 in Kyrock, KY to the late Sylvester and Nell Myers Salley. He was married to his wife of 44 years, Leola Estes Salley, who preceded him in death.

He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. His 20 year service included the Korean War, three tours of duty in Vietnam, and he retired in 1970 as a Master Sergeant. He was formerly employed by W.T. Grant, Standard Farm Store, and Lessenberry Do-it Center in Glasgow, KY. He was a former mayor of Park City, member of the Park City Masonic Lodge #934 F&M, and a member of Park City United Methodist Church.   

Other survivors include his step-son, Wayne Hughes and wife Diane of Corydon, KY; one brother, Clyde and wife Lou Ira of Park City; two sisters, Barbara Clark and husband Sam of Simpsonville, KY and Judy Salley Wallace of Park City; brother-in-law, Robert “Wimpy” Toms of Park City; sister-in-law, Irene Salley of Louisville; two granddaughters, Melissa Clements and husband Drew of Niagara, KY, and Andrea Hughes of Evansville, IN; two great-grandchildren, Grady and Madelyn Clements and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Sylvester Jr., Charles and James Salley and Marjorie Toms.  

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Charles Randall "Randy" Dillard, 57, of Mammoth Cave, formerly of Louisville, passed away at 10:55 AM Sept. 28, 2015 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

Randy was born in Memphis, TN and was a disabled wood craftsman. He was a son of the late Joseph Everett Dillard and Glynn Averial Evans Dillard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Dillard.

Memorial service will be at 5:00 PM Friday at The Lighthouse at Nolin Lake, where he was a member. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Friday at the church. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are a son, Evan Dillard of Mammoth Cave; and a sister, Joelynn Dewall (Kenneth) of Vine Grove.
