The Warren County native was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Wayne Elmore. He was a member of Wingfield Baptist Church. Frankie retired from Eaton Corporation as a machinist. He was a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM and the Chief Union Steward. Frankie was well known for his accomplishments in trap-shooting, and being the pitcher of the Southern Kentucky American Legion Junior Baseball team that won numerous state championships. Skaggs, age 86, of Chalybeate, departed this life on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Colonial Center in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on April 27, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Bessie Chambers Vincent. She was married to Leroy Skaggs, who also preceded her in death.
Joyce retired from Western Kentucky University as a cafeteria assistant, and was a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church. She leaves to honor her memory-- one son, Terry Skaggs (Carla) of Chalybeate; two daughters, Cindy Lawrence (Paul) of Bowling Green and Deborah Slaughter (Roger) of Chalybeate; four grandchildren, Richard Slaughter (Karen), Chastity Slaughter, Heather House (Nathan) and Jonathan Wood (Carla); five great grandchildren, Thomas Slaughter, Abbie Slaughter, Halleigh House, Kameron House and Violet Wood; two brothers, Bro. Billy V. Vincent (Jean) and Bro. Jerry Clay Vincent; four sisters, Melba Vincent, Anna Basil, Elizabeth Lindsey (Bill) and Jan Cowles and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Midway Church Cemetery. The Edmonson County native was born on September 7, 1942 to the late Leslie R. and Trulie D. Booker. He was married to his devoted wife, best friend and care-taker, Darlys Booker, who survives.
James Mitchell retired from the Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Family Services as a social worker. He was a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, former clerk and on the cemetery committee. Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- one daughter, Jami Booker of Poplar Spring; one son, Neal Booker (Krissie) of Bee Spring; two grandchildren, Emma Booker and Eli Booker; one sister, Beckey Wingfield of Poplar Spring; one niece, Kenya Wingfield and several other nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Wayne Booker, a twin sister, Martha Nell Booker and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wingfield. Interment will be in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery.
