Regina Kay Stewart, age 70, of Brownsville, peacefully departed this life with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, October 28, 2025—on what would have been her 48th wedding anniversary—at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Warren County native was born on March 18, 1955, to the late James E. and Joyce Pierce Wingfield. She was married to her devoted husband of forty-five years, Kenneth Edward “Kenny” Stewart.
In years past, Kay worked at Holley Carburetor, Turner Industries, and later at S&R, where she formed lasting friendships and took pride in a job well done. Yet, her most cherished title was that of mother and “Momma K.” Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her love into every moment she spent with them. Kay shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters and their families, treasuring the laughter, traditions, and countless memories they created together. She also found joy in the simple pleasures—an afternoon of shopping or the comfort of a pampering session while getting her nails done. A dedicated member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church, Kay lived her faith with quiet strength and grace, having made her peace and preparations for this hour many years ago. She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Kris Stewart and Kelli Skaggs of Brownsville; grandsons, Andre Hunter, Ethan Skaggs, Alijah Stewart and Pierce Skaggs; sisters, Janis Simon (Ricky) of Brownsville, Donna Goins (Danny) and Sherry Vincent (Hank) of Chalybeate, along with several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Glenn retired after dedicating more than thirty years to General Motors Corvette Assembly Plant, where he took great pride in his work and his membership with the UAW. A man of faith, Glenn lived his life guided by Christian values and a deep appreciation for creativity. He found joy in the roar of hot rods, the beauty of art, and the quiet expression of poetry and crafting. She was born on October 29, 1938, in Park City to the late Irvin and Edith Philpott Thompson. She was married to her loving husband of sixty-six years, the late Clyde Salley.
Lou Ira was a lifelong member of Park City United Methodist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday School classes, organized and led Vacation Bible School, sang in the church choir, and served as an officer on the local and district levels of the United Methodist Women. She had a special heart for mission work and children’s ministry. She worked as secretary to the principal at Park City School and as a bookkeeping assistant at Square Deal Lumber Company in Park City. In later years, she volunteered at Park City Elementary School, helping children learn to read and assisting with their homework. Lou Ira was an active member of the Cave City Homemakers Club for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, and cheering on her sons and grandchildren in all their activities. Her life was devoted to her family, her church, and her community. The Edmonson County native was a seamstress, former owner of B&B Market and was saved at an early age and became a member of Independence (Slate Bank) General Baptist Church. She loved to sew, read, work in her flower bed and can food. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the time she spent with them were some of her happiest moments. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Duvall and Dollie Lindsey Blair. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Duvall; three sisters, Carmon Duvall, Anna Lee Adkins and Maggie Reddish Murray; and a son-in-law, Jack Abrams. Arless retired after dedicating numerous years to the children in the Edmonson County School District, first serving as a cook and later as a custodian at South Edmonson Elementary. Beyond her work at school, Arless found her greatest joy in caring for her family and tending to her home—whether it was preparing a warm meal, keeping things neat and welcoming, or taking pride in her yard and garden. A faithful member of Jock United Baptist Church, Arless loved her church family as deeply as her own. Her faith was steadfast and her spirit unwavering. In his younger years, Davy worked diligently in a factory, taking pride in a job well done. He had a passion for simple joys—shooting pool with friends, admiring a freshly detailed car, and losing himself in the rhythm of his favorite music. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he often tuned in to Shepherd’s Chapel on the Christian network for spiritual guidance and reflection. Davy often reminded his loved ones, “We live, we die. Barbara retired after dedicating many years of service to Red Gold, a well-known tomato processing company in Geneva, Indiana. Her deep compassion for animals touched many lives, as she not only cared for animals personally but also made generous contributions to local animal shelters. Barbara was an avid crafter who took special joy in sewing cozy coats that she donated to the dogs at the shelters, where she blended her creativity with her love for animals.
