Sharon Gibbons DeVore, age 71, of Louisville departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was born on August 24, 1944 in Edmonson County, KY, to the late Samuel Elmer Gibbons and the late Dora Glass Gibbons. She was married to the late Hebert M. DeVore Jr. who preceded her in death.

She was a retired caregiver for Summerfield Manor. She was a member at The Lords Chapel in Louisville, KY.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Coats (Gregory) of Louisville, KY, Stephanie Johnson (David) of Louisville, KY; one son, Charles Farmer (Tammy) of Ashville, TN; one sister, Agnes Wheeler of Cave City, KY; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents she is also preceded in death by one son, Eric Gibbons, four siblings, and one grandson, Joshua Eric.

Roger L. Johnson, 64, of Brownsville passed away at 10:25 AM Nov. 23, 2015 At Hospice of Southern Kentucky Center.
 
The Hart County native was a heavy equipment operator for the Kentucky Department of Transportation and a member of Independence General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Lonnie Ray Johnson and Hazel E. Meredith Johnson.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ollie Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday.
 
Surviving are two sons, John Johnson of Brownsville and James Johnson (Mandy) of Leitchfield; two daughters, Shannon Glass (Shawn) of Wingfield and Christy Tindall (Brian) of Atlanta; a foster daughter, Gail Booth (Ronnie) of Louisville; four sisters, Linda Upchurch and Debbie Johnson both of Glasgow, Doris Dunford of Shepherdsville and Pat Fancher of Canmer; a brother, Ray Johnson of Shepherdsville; and nine grandchildren, Natalee Glass, Tyler Johnson, Nick Tindall, Lindsey Booth, Paige Glass, Ben Tindall, Taylor Booth, Macie Glass and Kate Tindall.

James D. Durbin, 77

 James D. Durbin, 77 of Sunfish passed away at 11:35 PM Nov. 22, 2015 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a factory worker and farmer. He was a son of the late Wavie Celesten Durbin and Lilly Mae Farris Durbin and the husband of the late Linda Lou Pierce Durbin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Durbin Lashley; and a grandson, Adam Eugene Lashley.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, where he was a member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 PM Wednesday, 9 AM-9 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home.
 
Surviving are a son, Eric Durbin (Heather) of Huff; a daughter, Christy Keith (Brian) of Park City; four brothers, Johnny Durbin of California, Irvin Durbin of Park City, Willie Durbin of Caneyville and Wavie Durbin of Sunny Point; four sisters, Doris Rone and Elizabeth Durbin both of Sunny Point, Delores Monroe of Franklin and Goldie Hardin of Sunfish; and three grandchildren, Tori Castor, Robert Keith and Christopher Keith.

The Jefferson County native was a farm hand and construction worker. He was a son of the late Floyd Ray Williams and Lila Faye Hardin Williams Embry of Leitchfield, who survives.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Holly Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-9 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday.
 
Surviving are his wife, Tammy Highbaugh Williams; a son, Michael Williams of Leitchfield; a daughter, Amanda Williams of Leitchfield; an adopted daughter, Terrie Williams of Brownsville; an adopted son, Vean Williams of Brownsville; two step daughters, Chelsie Graham (Chris) and Cicelie Brewster both of Brownsville; two sisters, Rama Jo Barnett (Richard) of Shepherdsville and Diane Pawley (Wayne) of Fort Mead, FL; three brothers, Cecil Williams (Debra) of Millwood, Roger Williams (Lori) of Leitchfield and Steve Williams (Johnnie) of Big Clifty; and five grandchildren, including Kyle Graham and Roger Williams.

Doris A. Johnson,  68, of  Mammoth Cave, KY departed this life on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Bowling Green. The Warren County native was born December 9, 1946 to the late Everett and  Corine Beckner Johnson . 
She was a retired key punch operator for Houchens Industries and a member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church.   

She is survived by one brother, Larry Johnson (Nancy) of Olive Branch, MS; one sister, Linda Craddock (James) of Mammoth Cave, KY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Ruth Gipson and Judy Brown and one brother, Joe Beckner.

Interment will be in  Brownsville Cemetery.

Leon Johnson, 90, departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, in Glasgow, Kentucky.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 22, 1925 to the late Carlos Irving Johnson and Ruby Lancaster Johnson and was married to the late Josephine McCombs Johnson.
 
He was a World War II Navy veteran, former owner of the Crossroads Truck Stop and a mechanic at Inland Steel. He was a member of Victory Baptist. 

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Johnson (Pat) of Greensboro, NC, and Gary Marr (Marlene) of Pig, KY; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; one daughter in law, Kay Marr of Rocky Hill; two son in laws, Dave Yates of Louisville, and Murrell Johnson of Cedar Springs.

He was also preceded in death by one son Junior Marr; four daughters, Cathy Johnson, Jawana Marr, Judy Johnson and Shirley Kay Yates.

Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Charles Ray Merideth, 72, of Roundhill passed away at 2:45 PM Nov. 14, 2015 at his home.
 
The Jefferson County native was a farmer, coal miner, US Army Corps of Engineers employee, US Army veteran and a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Charlie Riley Merideth and Hannah Eileen Carroll Merideth.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cub Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday, 9 AM-8 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday.
 
Surviving are his wife Linda Hershe Merideth; four daughters, Candy Bratcher (David) and Carilla Goodman (David) both of Roundhill, Missy Morgan (Jeff) of Morgantown and Charlene Cook (Jason) of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Joan Yoakem and Mary Lou Durbin both of Smiths Grove; a brother, Carl Merideth of Chatsworth, IL; and five grandchildren, Zachary Staugatis, Kaylee Cook, Matthew Bratcher, Brayden Cook and Libby "Little Wifey" Morgan.

Richard L. Wilson, 66

Richard L. Wilson, 66, of Bowling Green, KY, departed this life on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Bowling Green. The Marion, OH native was born October 3, 1949 to the late LeMoyne Bernard Wilson and late Garnetta Sissa Wilson and was married to Barbara Wilson of Bowling Green.

He was a Army Staff Sergeant and worked for Honda. He was also a member of Pine Grove United Baptist.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Rick L. Wilson of Columbus, OH, Timothy Wilson (Stephanie) of Kenton, OH, Mathew Wilson of Marion, OH; three brothers, Steve Wilson (Jerri) of Delaware, OH, Donnie Wilson (Terri) Guam, Jimmy Wilson (Pam) of Marion, OH; two sisters, Karen Douce (Dwayne) of North Carolina, Lee Ann Dixon (Stan) of Marion, OH; four grandchildren, Brett Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Presley Wilson, and Hadley Wilson.

He was predeceased by one brother, Michael Wilson.

Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

Nannie Pearl Cowles Furlong, 84 of Bowling Green died Sat. Nov. 7, 2015 at her residence.

The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late Willie and Vergie Emerson Howard and is preceded in death by her husbands, Hughie Cowles, Jr. and Emory Furlong. She was a reitred clerk from Wal-mart and a member of the Three Forks Church of Christ.

Her survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Kinser and Gwen Hymer (Raymond); three grandchildren, Kolton Kane Kinser, Jason and Jarrold Cooper; one niece, Sherry Wininger (Mike); a special caregiver, Tiffney Casner and her special companion, Whittles.

Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Glass, 40, departed this life on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at his residence in Monticello, Kentucky.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 30, 1975, to Darrell Glass (Shirley) of Glasgow, KY and Gwen Hawkins Upchurch (Robert) of Scottsville, KY; and was married to Paula Bunch Glass, who survives. 

He was a self employed laborer and a Baptist. 

Besides his parents and wife, he is survived by three sons, Darrell Glass of Monticello, KY, Logan Glass of Monticello, KY, and Samuel Glass of Monticello, KY; one daughter, Lilly Glass of Monticello, KY; two sisters, Katie Bennett (Richard) of Bowling Green, KY, and Beth Hines of Windyville, KY; maternal grandmother, Shirley Galloway of Bowling Green, KY; one step brother, Charles Eatmon, Jr. (Monica) of Greensburg, KY; brother in law, Kenny Anderson of Scottsville, KY.

He was preceded in death by one sister Betty Anderson.

Burial will be in Wingfield Cemetery.

Mabel Temples, 77 of Smiths Grove died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at her residence.

The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late Clayton and Iva Elizabeth Cowles Watt and is preceded in death by her first husband Goldie "Red" Cherry and daughter, Roxie Webb. She was a nurse at the Medical Clinic for 43 years. She was of the baptist faith where she was saved at Steep Hollow at an early age.

Her survivors include her husband, Herbert "Buddy" Temples; son, Tommy Cherry (Angela); step son, Keith Temples (Leda); five grandchildren, Christopher Webb (Amber), Stephen Massey, Daniel Massey, Samantha Hammond (James), Ashley Massey; four great grandchildren, Colton Webb, Lillie Webb, Paislee Glenn, Navaeh Massey; one sister, Joyce Elmore (Jimmie); two brothers, Kenneth Watt (Bernice) and Wallace Watt (Ann); several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Stinson, 70, of Westview, KY departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2015 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born July 24, 1945 to Bill Jaggers of Sweeden, KY and the late Chestine Meredith Jaggers. She was married to Kenneth L. Stinson, whom survives.
She was a housewife and a member of Kyrock United Baptist Church.
She is also survived by two sons, Joey Saling (Patsy) and Jimmy Saling of Louisville, KY; one brother, Bennie Jaggers (Katie) of Sweeden, KY; one step son, William M. Stinson (Lisa) of Westview, KY; one granddaughter; one step grandson; two great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Kyrock Church Cemetery.

Marie Reynolds, 83, of Pig, KY departed this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born April 30, 1932 to the late Clayton Ben Davis and Edith Ethel Stice Davis and was married to the late James Franklin Reynolds.  
 
She was an assembly line worker at Eaton Corporation.  She was also a member of  Rocky Hill Eastern Star and Cedar Springs United Baptist Church.   
She is survived by one son, Steve Reynolds (Sheila) of Pig  KY; one daughter, Sharon Wood (Clark) of Pig, KY; three grandchildren, Leigh Anne Cowles, Jason Wood and Jennifer Skaggs; three great grandchildren, Chance Cowles, Mattie Cowles and Rylee Skaggs; two brothers, Narvil “Doc” Davis (Wilma) and Robert L. Davis (Jean) both of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.

Tonya Cummings Willoughby, 51, of Brownsville passed away at 7:20 AM Nov. 2, 2015 at her home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a 2010 graduate of Western Kentucky University, a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Hoyt Cummings and Bonnie Davis Cummings of Brownsville, who survives.

Funeral will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday.

 
Also surviving are two daughters, Heather Ivory (J.C.) of Brownsville and Amanda McCormick (Josh) of Antiock, CA; a son, Sean Willoughby (Fallon) of Chalybeate; three sisters, Rhonda Lindsey (Tim) of Chalybeate and Kim Davis (Tony) and Shawn Cummings both of Brownsville; a brother, Vance Cummings of Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Tabien Ivory, Korbin Ivory, Dawson Ivory and Alexander Willoughby.

Marvin Smith, 78 of Brownsville died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital.
He was a son of the late Cecil E. and Opal Almeda Taylor Smith and is preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Lewis.  He was a retired Union Representative for General Motors, a member of the UAW Local #2164 and a member of the First Apostolic Church. 

His survivors include two daughters,  Janet Smith and Margaret Sullivan (Richard) ; two sons, Marvin Smith and Kenneth Smith (Margie); four step children, Sharie Long, Bonnie Smith (Roger), Danny Long and Don Long;  25 Grandchildren, numerous  Great Grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Smith, Leamon Smith, Denzil Smith; three sisters, Sue Jackson, Annette Bisbee and Auldeane Cates; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Hawkins Cemetery.
