​Aline M. Vincent, 90, of Brownsville passed away at 12:20 AM Nov. 27, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Chester "Booker" Minton and Annie Smith Minton and the wife of the late Leo Vincent.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-9 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday.
 
Surviving are two sons, Neil Vincent of Brownsville and Billy Ray Vincent (Deanna) of Smiths Grove; two daughters, Janice Basham (Walton) of Bee Spring and Mary Faye Vincent of Brownsville; a step son, Ray Vincent (Betty) of Brownsville; seven grandchildren, Tammy Sue Meredith, Jeff Basham, Tim Vincent, Brandy Kinser, Michelle Wood, Bo Vincent and Emily Bullock; 11 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

​Anna Lou Parker Parsley, age 76, of Greensburg, KY, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 in Greensburg. The Barren County native was born on February 23, 1940 to the late Roy T. and Ora Pedigo Parker. She was married to Albert Parsley, who survives.
 
She was a retired waitress at Park Mammoth Resort, and was a member of Cedar Springs United  Baptist Church and Rocky Hill Eastern Star.
 
Besides her husband she leaves to honor her memory six sons,  Mike Bennett (Beth) of Rogersville, TN, Mark Bennett of Glasgow, KY, Todd Parsley of Greensburg, KY, Clifton Albert Parsley (Joyce) of Cave City, KY, Romie “Ed” Parsley (Charmaine) of Glasgow, KY, Eddie Parsley (Lexus) of Greensburg, KY; one stepdaughter, Beverly Reed (N.E.) of Brownsville, KY and three sisters, Mildred Edwards (Wendell) of Center, KY, Dorothy Moosun (M.H.) of Saudi Arabia, Mary Jo Smith (Kenneth) of Park City, KY.  She was also preceded in death by one brother, J.T. Parker and one sister, Margaret Poynter.
 
Internment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Brownsville, KY.

​Carolyn VanMeter Duvall, 57, of Bowling Green passed away at 6:08 PM Nov. 25, 2016 at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
 
The Edmonson County native was a teacher's aide at South Edmonson Elementary School and a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Nathan VanMeter Jr. and Gusteen Meredith VanMeter and the wife of the late Garry Sandlin. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Johnson.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Jock United Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church.
 
Surviving are a son, Wesley Sandlin of Bowling Green; a daughter, Heather Wilson (Cody) of Chalybeate; a sister, Diane VanMeter of Bee Spring; a brother, Rudy VanMeter of Bee Spring; two granddaughters, Mia Wilson and Lyla Wilson; and several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

​Nelson Smith, 89, of Mammoth Cave passed away at 1:45 AM Nov. 24, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson county native was a carpenter. He was the son of the late Ernest Otto Smith and Mary Edna Rich Smith and the husband of the late Zula Brooks Smith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Smith and Arthur Smith; and a sister, Willowdean Childress.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Sunday at Union Light Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial to follow in Hill Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10 AM Saturdayat the church.
 
Surviving are four sons, Charles Smith (Martha), James K. Smith (Marcia) and Ernest Smith (Karen) all of Mammoth Cave and Keith Smith (Melanie) of Northtown; two daughters, Mary Edna Meredith (Dwight) and Sharon Halsell (Danny) both of Mammoth Cave; a brother, Harlon Von Smith (Betty) of Mammoth Cave; three sisters, Pearl Elmore of Brownsville, Anna Lou Rigdon (Arvil) of Louisville and Esteleen Webb (Lonard) of Mammoth Cave; 20 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.

​Raymond Ervin Durbin, 80, of Park City passed away at 10:11 AM Nov. 22, 2016 in Glasgow.
 
The Edmonson County native was a retired warehouse foreman for Southern States in Park City. He was a son of the late Wavie Celesten Durbin and Lillie Mae Farris Durbin. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Durbin, Richard Durbin and James Durbin; and a sister, Doris Rone.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial to follow in Lambert Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-9 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10 AM Saturday at the church.

Jeanice Vincent Davis, age 77, of Brownsville, KY, departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born August 9, 1939 to the late Roy Vincent and Ruby Christine Vincent. She was married to the late Lorenza D. Davis.

Jeanice was a Registered Nurse and worked for Wilkes Clinic and Logan Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory, two sons, Donald Davis (Robin) of Douglasville, GA, Dale Davis (Karen) of Pinellas Park, Florida; two daughters, Dianna Peyton of Hanson, KY, Denise Davis of Brownsville, KY; and five grandchildren, Cody Harlan, Katie Peyton, Sarah Davis, Paul Peyton and Laura Davis. She was also preceded in death by her brother Revere Vincent.

Interment will be in Fairview Church Cemetery.

Willodean Logsdon Sanders, 86, of Smiths Grove passed away at 12:30 PM Nov. 19, 2016 at Edmonson Health and Rehab Center.
 
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Andrew Logsdon and Mollie Wingfield Logsdon and the wife of the late Lawrence Sanders. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lawrence Sanders.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Chalybeate United Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in Otter Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday and 9 AM-12:15 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home.

​Byron Thomas “Tom” White, age 76, of  Park City, KY, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. The Barren County native was born on October 14, 1940 to the late William Thomas White and the late Opal Stone White. He was married to the late Carol M. White.

Tom was a retired Barber and owner of George’s Pool Room in Cave City, KY. From 1990 to 1994, he was a Cave City Council Member. For 38 years, he was a member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was also a  member of Caveland Baptist Church in Cave City.

He leaves to honor his memory one daughter, Krista Williams (fiancé Ben Graves ) of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Olivia Shipp (James) of Munfordville, KY, and Paulette Taylor of Cave City, KY and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verna L. White and Phyllis Beckner, and one stepson, Tracey Estes.

Interment will be in Walnut Hill cemetery.

​Kathleen B. Basham, 91, of Brownsville, KY, departed this life on November 17, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare in Brownsville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born June 29, 1925 to the late Hubert and Chlorene Sowders Bullock. She was married to the late Bernard Basham.

Kathleen was a retired teacher for Edmonson County Schools. She was a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and was also a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory, two sons, Bernard “Bobby” Basham (Freda) of Chalybeate, KY, Jeff Basham (Mayra) of Florida; two granddaughters, LeeAnn Elmore (Anthony) of Chalybeate and Sara McCaslin (James) of Bowling Green, KY; and two great grandchildren, Ben Elmore and Beth Elmore.

​James A. "Bubby" Phelps, 51, of Bowling Green passed away at 8:37 PM Nov. 11, 2016 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky House in Bowling Green.
 
The Warren County native was an auto mechanic. He was the son of the late Laymon Arvil Phelps and Betty Lou Huff Phelps Cherry of Bowling Green, who survives. He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah June Phelps.
 
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Gravil Funeral home with burial to follow in Slate Bank Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Monday.
 
Also surviving are two sons, David Phelps (Lakin) and Laymon Phelps (Traci Taylor) both of Bowling Green; three sisters, Anita Bear (Rodney) and Valerie Phelps (Andy Reeder) both of Bowling Green and Sandy Rone (Joe) of Richardsville; and several nieces and nephews.

​Jerry Wayne Bailey 72 of Bowling Green passed away at 11:16 a.m. November 11, 2016 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

Jerry was born September 22, 1944 a son of the late Buford Bailey and Dovie Mae Hudson Bailey.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Randy Bailey, Dale Bailey and two sisters, Nelda Bristow and Lisa Bailey.

Jerry was employed by Houchens Industries for 15 years and was the warehouse manager at Plumbers Supply for 16 years.  Jerry was a member of Victory Baptist Church. 

Funeral Services for Jerry will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hardy and Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Boiling Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday November 14, 2016 at Hardy and Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel.

​Betty Ann Priddy, 82 of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2016 at her residence. 
 
The Smiths Grove native was born June 25, 1934, a daughter of the late Web and Sallie Jones Tabor.  Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Thomas Priddy,  sisters; Geneva Toms, Earline Gammon, Elizabeth Grimes, Marie Petty, Myrtle Hudson, Eva Ramsey, Frances Tabor; brothers, Joseph Tabor, Jim Tabor, Ralph Tabor, and Everett Tabor
 
Betty graduated from North Warren High School in 1953 and retired from Holley Carburetor.  She was a member of Smiths Grove Presbyterian Church.   
 
Betty is survived by one son; Thomas Priddy (Regina), two daughters, Patricia Priddy, Pamela Sue Priddy (Billy), grandchildren; Emily Priddy, Crissy Priddy, Anthony Priddy, Kellsie Mayhew, Tyler Mayhew, three great-grandchildren, Whitney Heard, Allison Priddy, Ayden Priddy, one brother; D.W. Tabor (Barbara), and several nieces and nephews.

​William Elbert Davis, 92, of Bowling Green passed away at 11:18 AM Nov. 9, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a carpenter, an army veteran of World War II and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Otto Davis and Lelia Jones Davis and the husband of the late Earline Basham Davis. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Winnie Davis and Eltie Madison; and a great grandson, Trent Woosley.
 
Funeral services will be conducted by Bro. David Woosley at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cub Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 PM Friday, 9 AM-9 PM Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday.

​Gerald “Jerry Ode” Vincent, 73, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Bee Spring, died, December 29, 2015 at Bryden Place in Columbus, OH. The Edmonson County Native was born January 26, 1942 to the late Odie Vincent and Ethel James Vincent.

He was a laborer and a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to honor his memory, one sister, Truly Fletcher of Louisville, KY and one niece, Gayla Sargent (John Marshall) of Sidney, IL. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Boswell.

​Verna Sanders, 83 of Smiths Grove, formerly of the Center Point Community of Hart County, passed away Sunday at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was the daughter of the late Funston and Alma Logsdon Crain and the wife of the late Willard Sanders. She was a retired employee of Desa International and a member of the Center Point Baptist Church. 

Mrs.  Sanders  is survived by: Six daughters-Regina Wood, Paula Meredith & Carla Decker all of of Smiths Grove, Zelma Wilson, Sandy Ashley & Wanda Kaye Ray all of Brownsville, Her Pets-Wild Man & Hank, One brother-Woodford “Woodie” Crain of Shepherdsville, One sister-Geneva “Toot” Saltsman of Annetta, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter-Selena Wolfe.

Services for Verna Sanders will be 1pm Wednesday at the Center Point Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Hawkins officiating.  Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 9am-8pm at the Sego Funeral Home. 

The body will lie in state at the Center Point Baptist Church Wednesday from 9am until service time at 1pm.
