Kimberly Michelle Johnson, 38, of Ollie passed away at 5:23 PM Nov. 26, 2019 at Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker and a member of Brownsville General Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Rodney Meredith of Anneta, who survives and the late Gayle Newton Meredith. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Meredith; and her step father, Bill Meredith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Friday and after 9:00 AM Saturday. Surviving in addition to her father are two sons, Tyler Johnson and Gavin Johnson and their father, James Johnson all of Mammoth Cave; a brother, Allen Meredith of Sweeden; two step brothers, Adam Meredith and Jesse Meredith (Kim) both of Hardyville; a step sister, Ivory Flynn of Anneta; a niece, Sabrina Williams (Andy) of Livingston, TN; a nephew, Isaac Meredith of Brownsville; two great nephews, Dallas and Brayden Williams; several step nieces and nephews; and several special cousins. Virginia Lou McPeak, age 69 of Brownsville, departed this life on Friday, November 22 , 2019 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on October 18, 1950 to Bertie Denham Johnson of Brownsville and the late Bro. William Johnson. She was married to Kenneth Ray McPeak, who survives.
Virginia was a retired production line worker for Country Oven and was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves to honor her memory-- one daughter, Melissa Grider (Billy) of Brownsville; one son, Jimmy McPeak (Lori) of Salem, IN; five grandchildren, Jeremy McPeak (Michelle), Amy Hoskison (Josh), Lindsey McPeak, Emily Grider and C.J. Grider; five great grandchildren, Tyler Hoskison, Tatum Hoskison, Lilly McPeak, Joe McPeak and Liam Lightner; two brothers, Roland Johnson (Mary) and William Earl Johnson (Sherry); three sisters, Vernice Childress (Elmo), Alpha Lindsey (Lonard) and Bertie Evelyn Deweese (Larry); one brother-in-law, Jerry Clay Vincent; several nieces and nephews. She was a daughter of the late Jethro Tomes and Devora Cummings Tomes and the wife of the late Estill Ray Nash. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi "Faye" Roberts; a son, Gary Nash; three sisters, Beulah Herald, Syble Miller and Irene Booth; two brothers, Earl Tomes and Durward Tomes; and a grandson, Justin Nash. "Debbie" Ryan, 62, of Roundhill passed away at 2:17 PM Tuesday Nov. 19, 2019 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Philadelphia, PA native was a sales associate at the Brownsville Dollar General Store. She was the daughter of the late Galen Townley and Patricia DeLangh Townley. Visitation services will be 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home. No other services are scheduled. Surviving are her husband, Joseph D. The Edmonson County native was born on October 29, 1943 to the late James Leslie Wilson and Ruth Lindsey Wilson Wells. He was married to Zelma “Sam” Sanders Wilson, who survives.
Ervin was retired from the US Army and was a member of Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 and DAV, Purple Heart recipient and Fairview United Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- two daughters, Crystal Frederick (David) of Brownsville and Amy Bragg (Donny) of Rocky Hill; one Son, Michael Mullins (Kimberly) of Chalybeate; one grandson, Logan Hagan of Brownsville; three step grandchildren, Jacob Frederick, Hunter Frederick and Lilly Wilson; one great granddaughter, Eligna French; four brothers, L.J. Braeden was born in Lexington, KY on June 1, 2001 to Alison Patton Holland and Robert Shannon Combs.
Braeden was saved at Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, and later moved his membership to Rolling Hills United Baptist Church, where he remained a member. He was a former student of Edmonson County and Madison Central High Schools. At the age of fifteen, he became a junior volunteer firefighter and remained an active member of the Chalybeate and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Departments. He was employed by the Edmonson County Road Department, a job he was extremely proud of. Most recently, he had started training to obtain his CDL license. For a period of time, while residing in Richmond, he was an employee of Miller Tire and Auto Care, and also an associate at the Waco Volunteer Fire Department. Braeden had a contagious smile, endearing personality, caring heart, incredible work ethic and such a zest for life. He never met a stranger. If you were his friend, he always had your back. He loved to work, and whatever project you were engaged in he was eager to help. From an early age, he loved to work with his father and he was considered as one of the staff members at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home. Patsy retired as a teacher from Barren County School System. She was a member of Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was the pianist for many years. She was also a member of the Kentucky Retired Teacher Association. Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory— one daughter, Myra Ray (Eugene) of Smiths Grove; granddaughter, Bretta Jo Stice of Brooklyn, NY; grandsons, Ethan Ray (fiancée Jordan Engler) and Aaron Ray all of Smiths Grove; sister, Peggy Emberton (Robert) of Cave City; brother-in-law, Larry Stice (Terra) of Park City; sister-in-law, Gail Toms (Donnie) of Big Reedy and several nieces and nephews. Wanda was a daughter of the late John Henry and Elta Wanda Geary Mallory and wife of the late Joseph Carby. The Muhlenberg County native was a lab technician at Country Ove Bakery and a member of Smiths Grove Baptist Church. Her survivors include her daughter, Judy Lindsey (Mike); her sister, Janet Whitaker (Mike), her brother, Greg Mallory, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with a graveside service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Wingfield Cemetery.
