Linda “Karen” Jaggers, age 75, departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. The Edmonson County native was born on September 13, 1950, to Catherine Gibson McMurdo and the late Roy Truman Massey. She shared a beautiful, lifelong bond with her husband, Steve Jaggers. They were loving partners and true soul mates, and she held his memory close after his passing.
Karen lived a life filled with laughter, resilience, and deep devotion to those she loved. She began her professional life as an administrative assistant at the Department of Transportation. She later devoted 12 years to raising her children, a role she cherished deeply. After her time as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to the workforce and built a respected 27-year career as both a bankruptcy collections manager at Sears Credit and a credit collections manager at Citi Bank. Her dedication and compassion earned the admiration of colleagues and clients alike. She was also a member of Kyrock United Baptist Church. After retiring, she enjoyed the slower, well-earned pace of life and the time she spent with her family—they truly had her heart. She was a loving mother who took immense pride in her children and grandchildren. As a Mamaw, she offered comfort and joy and was always a steady source of warmth that made those around her feel deeply loved. Besides her loving mother, Catherine, she leaves to honor her memory— her children, Brandy Durm (Steven) and Josh Jaggers (Lindsey), all of Louisville; her grandchildren, Hailey Jaggers, Molly and Dylan Durm; and siblings, John McMurdo (Lynn), Tisha Sloan (Joe), Jackie York and Billie Smith (Rickey). Born in Bowling Green, he was a son of the late James Robert Hardin and Mary Estelle Howell Hardin and was a member of Sunny Point General Baptist Church. Bobby was a 1987 graduate of Edmonson County High School and attended Western Kentucky University and Middle Tennessee State University. He worked for many years as the grocery manager of Kroger, Publix, and Harris - Teeter and was currently employed with National Tire & Battery as an automotive parts salesman. "Coach Bobby", as the kids would call him, enjoyed a long volunteer career coaching local youth sports teams in baseball, basketball, and soccer. He had a great love for gospel music and kept a playlist of his favorite songs. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Freddie Ray Logsdon, age 74 of Wingfield, departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on July 14, 1951 to the late Raymond Earl and Lillie Mae Glass Logsdon. He was married to his loving wife of fifty-two years, Vickie Jo Logsdon, until they were parted by her passing on August 14, 2022.
Freddie retired from Berry Plastics after more than twenty years of dedicated service as a technician, a role in which he poured both skill and pride into his work. Over the years, he also worked with Firestone, drove a bus for the Edmonson County School District—always greeting the children with a friendly smile—and owned and operated Logsdon’s Sawmill, a place where his strong work ethic and love for hands-on craftsmanship truly shined. Freddie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. He looked forward to his annual spring fishing trip to Kentucky Lake, a tradition that brought him peace and happiness year after year. He also loved sharing Chinese meals with his sister, Linda, canning the fresh fruits and vegetables from his garden, and savoring a warm cup of coffee on his deck as he took in the stillness of the day. Above all, he treasured every moment spent with his family, who were the heart of his world. Adam worked side-by-side with his dad at Blanton’s Body Shop, where he poured great craftsmanship into every repair. In his spare time, he found peace in the stillness of the water, fishing pole in hand, where the world seemed to slow down just for him. He loved wandering through flea markets in search of hidden treasures, always with an eye for a good bargain and a story to go with it. He held a special love for his grandparents. Whether he was running errands for them or simply sitting and talking awhile, he treasured every moment they shared. Those memories — along with the many family trips to the Smoky Mountains — were some of his greatest joys. He carried them close to his heart, returning to them often with a grateful smile. The Kinder, MO native was a son of the late Claude Wayne Townsend and Mabel Mildred Way Townsend. He was a retired assembly line worker at GM Corvette Assembly, a 40-year member of Hays Lodge #517 F & AM, a member of Local 2164 UAW, a member of Stump Bluff Militia and a Baptist. He enjoyed flintlocks and black powder shooting, watching NASCAR and deer hunting. He was also a handy man of sorts- he could fix anything and wouldn’t stop trying until he did. Donnie gave his heart to the Lord as a young boy on November 11, 1988, at Snap Missionary Baptist Church—a moment he carried with him for the rest of his life. He was later baptized into Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until the Lord called him home. His desire was for all of his friends and family to have that same experience of salvation that he had. In 1997, Donnie faced a life-altering accident. Yet, with God’s grace and a strength that amazed even the physicians, he rose above every expectation. He continued to live a full, meaningful life with a warm heart, a giving spirit, and a steady devotion to his faith, family, and community. He served his community through the Kyrock Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a dispatcher for The Medical Center EMS, offering calm and reassuring support during moments when others needed it most. Donnie was blessed with remarkable artistic talent. He found joy in woodworking and drawing, creating pieces that reflected both his skill and his gentle, thoughtful nature. Over the years, he also used his skills as a draftsman with Tekno and FedEx, applying his sharp mind and attention to detail in every task he took on. Outside of his creative pursuits, he was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan—always ready to cheer on his favorite team and drivers with genuine excitement. Gary dedicated 28 years to RR Donnelley, after which he spent many of his happiest years devoting his time to the work he loved most—his orchard and garden—tending to the trees and plants he cared for year after year. He took genuine pride in nurturing things that would grow and last. He was such a hard worker and had the strongest work ethic. Although his life held significant challenges, he rarely complained. He faced the difficult parts of life with a perseverance that is unmatched. A lifelong Dodgers fan, Gary admired Sandy Koufax from boyhood and carried that devotion throughout his life. Baseball remained a simple pleasure until the very end. His interest in ideas ran deep. Though his formal education ended after high school, he had a lifelong love of learning. Gary became an avid reader of history and political theory. He valued education and was proud to see his children and grandchildren do the same. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He cherished his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, and even as dementia progressed, he continued to recognize them, ask about their lives, and hold tightly to who they were to him. Phillip had a gift for bringing people together, whether through his warm smile, his easy conversation, or the unforgettable meals he served from his Crews Bar-B-Q food truck—cooking for others brought him joy, and everyone who tasted his food felt like a friend. A talented musician at heart, he found peace and happiness in bluegrass music and in playing his harmonica, filling every space with the gentle melodies that reflected his spirit. Phillip never met a stranger; he loved people deeply and genuinely, and he had a special place in his heart for children. A true patriot, he continued his service to fellow veterans through his involvement with the Nesbit Alexander VFW Post #6937, the Brownsville DAV Chapter #32, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #356. Surviving are four children, Virginia Tipton and Teresa Cook both of Brownsville, William Jr. Cook of Poplar Springs and Eurica Alexander (Todd Lindsey) of Sweeden; seven grandchildren, Julie Hayes (Donald Raymer), Phillip Hayes, Jeffrey James, William Poteet (Nikki), Hank Cook, Cassady Wood and Cheyenne Lindsey; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Nelsie Jones; and three brothers, Sherman Cook (Lisa), Eddie Cook and Jimmy Cook (Martha); and several nieces and nephews. Esther McCubbin Sanders, age 92 of Cave City, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on May 15, 1933 to the late Charlie and Martha Thompson McCubbin. She was married to her husband of thirty-seven years, the late Robert “Bob” Sanders.
Esther dedicated forty-two faithful years as a machine operator with National Seating, where her hard work and dependability earned the respect of everyone who knew her. Yet her greatest and most cherished role was that of a caregiver—lovingly tending to her family with the same devotion and steady hands that guided her through life. She was a proud member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church, where she often stood to testify and give heartfelt praise to God for her salvation. Esther’s deepest desire was for her loved ones to know the peace and joy she found in Jesus, so that one day her family could be reunited with her in Heaven, rejoicing together through the endless ages. She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Patricia Cooper (Randy), Gary Sanders, and Robbie Sanders (Alta), all of Cave City; son-in-law, Jimmy Parnell of Columbia; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-three great-great-grandchildren, with a few more on the way; a special niece, Charolotte Melloan, along with a host of other family members and friends. Besides her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by two children, Rebecca Parnell and Michael Boston; daughter-in-law, Donna Sanders; two grandchildren, Adam Isbell and Ginger Boston; one great-grandson, Andrew Cowan, and her four brothers, Paul, Carl, Charles, and Claude McCubbin. The Edmonson County native grew up surrounded by family, faith and the strong values that shaped her life of kindness and service. Patricia was a joy to be around and a devoted caregiver who touched many lives with her gentle spirit, patience and generous heart. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Ova Carroll and Nova Lee Duvall Carroll. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Jean Carroll, Sharon Kaye Carroll McClure, and Arnetha Carroll Dunn; and seven brothers, Jerry Ova Carroll, Kenneth Wayne Carroll, Arvin Dale Carroll, Anthony Charles Carroll, Jeffery Damon Carroll, Terry Wade “Grasshopper” Carroll and David O’Neil Carroll. Family will be gathering at 11:00 Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held shortly thereafter. Barbara J. Claywell, age 74, of Glasgow, departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2025 at her residence. The Cumberland County native was born on June 27, 1951 to the late Jim and Bonnie Booher Claywell.
After many dedicated years working on the assembly line at 3A Composite, Barbara finally embraced her well-earned retirement. Known for her kindness and gentle spirit, she found great joy in caring for the elderly, always offering comfort and companionship to those around her. At home, her love extended to her beloved pets, who brought her endless happiness and laughter. In life’s quieter moments, nothing delighted her more than enjoying her favorite snack cakes—especially the festive holiday ones that brought a smile to her face every season. She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Foran Meredith, Jr. and Marlene Wood (Roger), all of Glasgow; grandson, Drew Wood; great-grandson, Trenton Wood, and siblings, Wanda Elmore, Larry Claywell (Debbie), Robbie Ernest (William) and Billy Claywell (Sharon). Priscilla was blessed with a special gift that made her unique in every way. She attended the Kentucky School for the Deaf, where she built lifelong friendships and embraced her individuality with strength and grace. For many years, she worked at Holley Carburetor, taking great pride in her work on the assembly line. Later, she followed her creative spirit by becoming a licensed cosmetologist, where she found joy in helping others look and feel their best. As a member of First Baptist Church, Priscilla’s faith was the quiet foundation of her life. She found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures—tending to her garden, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face, and exploring nature through long walks and hikes. Her love for the outdoors reflected her gentle soul and appreciation for the beauty in God’s creation. She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Chip Rich and Lisa Rich, both of Smiths Grove; daughter-in-law, Tracey Woodcock; grandchildren, Cole Cowles (Chelsea), Bradly Woodcock, Mitch Pearson (Jenny), Jeffery Bishop, Austin Raines, Devon Rich and Isabella Woodcock and her great-grandchildren, Serenity Cowles, Brantley Cowles, Savannah Cowles and Kingston Lightfoot.
