​Jimmy “Foxy” Cox, 62, of Brownsville, KY, passed away on December 28, 2016 in Louisville, KY.  The Hart County native was born on November 27, 1954, to the late P.T. “Phineas” Cox and Juanita Childress Cox. He was married to Sandra Cox who survives.

“Foxy” worked for Madison’s Flowers for 15 years delivering flowers. He was a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of the Brownsville Odd Fellows Lodge #164.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory one brother, Gary “Cotton” Cox of Munfordville, KY; two sisters, Pam Cox of Munfordville, KY, Patricia Ayers (Denny) of Borden, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Stockholm Church cemetery.

​Betty Lee Paff, age 84, of  Brownsville, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Bowling Green, KY. The Brazil, IN  native was born August 7, 1932 to the late John and Lilly Bridgewater. 
   
Betty was a nursing assistant.

​Margie J. Friend, age 92 of Glasgow, KY, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Glasgow. The  Louisville, KY native was born May 20, 1924 to the late Clarence and Viola Gardner Friend.

She was a retired social worker for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and of the  Baptist faith.

She leaves to honor her memory, four nieces, Patricia Friend Brown (Billy) of Glasgow, Sharon Friend Frey (Kurt) of Glasgow, Julie Ross Scoskie of Louisville, Lisa Ross Collopy (John) of Louisville; three nephews, Robert Marion Friend (Barbara) of Campbellsville, Jerry Gardner Friend (Carlotta) of Park City and Mackie Ross (Vickie) of Louisville, several great nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Marion Gardner Friend and two sisters, Erseldean Friend Ross and Lela Friend Vance.

​Garnetta Laverne Glass, age 84, of Plum Springs, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Scottsville, KY.  The Edmonson County native was born on November 6, 1932 to the late William Thomas Hawks and Ora Elmore Hawks.  She was married to the late Huston Glass.  

Garnetta was a certified nursing assistant at The Medical Center at Bowling Green and a member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church.  She also opened her home and her heart through the years as a foster parent to over one hundred children.  

She was survived by one daughter, Laverne Childers of Bowling Green, KY; two sons, Garry Glass (C.J.) of Bowling Green, KY and Sammie Glass (Marie) of Sweeden, KY; one brother, Garnie Hawks (Joan) of Scottsville, KY; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Elaine Glass and four brothers, McKinley, Ronald, Don and Kenneth Hawks.  

Interment will be in Wingfield Church Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Patton officiating the services.

​Jackie L. Duvall, 67, of Brownsville passed away at 2:33 AM Dec. 21, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green
 
The Edmonson County native was mobile home setup and installation technician for Clayton Homes. He was a son of the late Leonard Duvall and Delphia Meredith Duvall.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home. Prayer service will be held at 6 PM Thursday.
 
Surviving are his wife, Lois Stinnett Duvall; a brother, Joey Duvall of Sunfish; two nephews, Brian Duvall and Brent Duvall.

​Ollie Sanders Ritter, age 98 of Park City, KY, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Bowling Green. The Edmonson county native was born August 30, 1918 to the late John Frank Sanders and the late Martha Elizabeth Meredith Sanders. She was married to the late Parker M. Ritter.

She was a former manager at Cave City Factory Outlet and dining room manager at Mammoth Cave. She was a member of Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Cave City Eastern Star #252.

She leaves to honor her memory, one daughter, Kayla Cassady (Dale) of Bowling Green; one granddaughter, Stephanie Elder (Eric) and two great granddaughters, Rachel Elder and Madeline Elder all of Park City; daughter-in-law, Joan Davis (Billy Neal) of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory Ritter, and three brothers and four sisters.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.

​Lois East Beckham, 93 of Smiths Grove died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Edmonson Center.

The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Charlie and Blanche Lawrence East, wife of the late Tabor Beckham and preceded in death by her son, David Beckham; two brothers Lindsey East, and Wallace East and three sisters Virginia Renfro, Mazie Gillespie, Beatrice Garman. She was a seamstress at Union Underwear and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. 

Her survivors include her daughter Carol Brunson (Doug); five grandchildren, Jeff Beckham (Leisha), Shelly Carter (Lee), Kim Hill (Larry), Keith Beckham (Beth), Justin Brunson; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; five sisters, Hazel Davis, Rose Hulsey, Marie Woodward, Patricia McCombs, Charlene Smith; several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

​Larry M. Wells, 67, of Huntertown, passed away on December 14, 2016. Born on April 9, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Ruth Wells.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and the co-owner of Flaugh and Wells Car Sales and retired from Mr. B’s after 15 years. Larry enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and playing gaming machines.

He is survived by his wife of  23 years, Monica Wells; daughters, Beth (Dave) Bleich and Cheryl (Chris) McKee; grandson, Mitchell Bleich; and one great-granddaughter, Lorna Wells; brother, Ervin (Sam) Wilson; sister, Cecile (Nelson) Minyard; nephew, Jeff Minyard; nieces, Amy Bragg and Crystal Frederick; and several cousins. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Ricky Minyard; and cousins, Dan Gibson and Bobby King.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

​ Brandy Lee Vaughn, 36, of Brownsville passed away Dec. 14, 2016 from injuries suffered in an auto accident in Brownsville.
 
The Edmonson County native was a machine operator for Woodcraft Industries. She was the daughter of Vickie Kerr Noble (Jerry) of Vine Grove and John Thomas Garrett (Lisa) of Franklin, who survive.

​Imogene Cook, age 84, of Cedar Springs, KY, departed this life on Monday, December 12, 2016 in Louisville, KY. The Hart County native was born June 17, 1932 to the late Ted Toms and Annie Mae Perkins Toms. She was married to the late Marvin “Sock” Cook.

Imogene was a seamstress for Kellwood Manufacturing. She was a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church.

​Joey Lee Vincent, 57, of Huff passed away Dec. 6, 2016 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on Hwy 185 in Warren County.
 
The Edmonson Co. native was a retired maintenance worker at Kentucky Apparel, a US Navy veteran and a member of Caveland Church in Cave City. He was the son of the late Ernest Vincent and Lona Saltsman Vincent. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrna Meredith.
 
No public services are scheduled. Gravil Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
 
Surviving are his wife, Patricia M. Alexander Vincent; a son Zebulon E Vincent of Bowling Green; a sister, Carolyn Eiganier of Brainerd, MN; and a granddaughter, Haleigh Lindsey.

​Magdeline "Maggie" Simon, 89, of Sunfish passed away at 6:05 PM Dec. 6, 2016 at her home.
 
The Edmonson County native was a Green Thumb worker and a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Pete V. Lashley and Leona Durbin Lashley and the wife of the late Harold Kenneth "Dude" Simon. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Leona Simon and Sue Duvall; a granddaughter, Sarah Duvall; and two sisters, Jamima Vincent and Marie Hayes.
 
Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday, 9 AM-8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home.

​Jane Vincent, age 87, of Lincoln, departed this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at her residence. The Barren County native was born February 8, 1929 to the late Vauldon and Christine Demunbrun. She was married to her devoted companion and friend, Paul Vincent, who survives.

Jane retired as a waitress from Mammoth Cave Hotel and later as teller from South Central Bank. She was a member of Ollie United Baptist Church and the DAV Women’s Auxiliary.

Besides her husband, she leaves to honor her memory, one son, Terrell Davis (Terri) of Horse Cave; one daughter, Marsha Hawkins (Larry) of Pig; three grandsons, Jarrod Hawkins (Beth) of Cedar Springs, Jason Hawkins (Courtney) of Brownsville and Travis Morgan of Chalybeate; two great-grandchildren, Alex Hawkins and Julia Hawkins; one brother, Tommy Demunbrun of Wyoming; two sisters, Lucille Priddy and JoAnn Poynter (Paul) both of Cave City and several nieces and nephews.

​She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Davis.

​Naomi Thompson, age 92, of Lindseyville, KY, departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2016 in Brownsville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born April 13, 1924 to the late Everette Lindsey and Lois Vincent Lindsey. She was married to the late James E. “Fat” Thompson, Sr.

Naomi was a homemaker. She was a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church and Brownsville Rebekah Lodge.

​Ralph Woodcock, 62, of Brownsville passed away at 12:30 AM Dec. 3, 2016 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
 
The Edmonson County native was a disabled construction worker. He was a son of the late Rex Woodcock and Lucille Farris Woodcock. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Woodcock; and a sister, Portia Woodcock.

​Chase Vibbert, 17 of Park City died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at University of Kentucky Health Care. 

The Warren County native was a baseball player for Warren East High School and an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Charles and Vicky Vibbert.

His survivors include his parents Eric and Summer Vibbert; two brothers, Nathan Vibbert (Jailene), Derek Vibbert; one sister, Sadie Vibbert; his maternal grandparents, Donna and Phillip Short and Steve and Betty Denton; one niece, Paisley Vibbert; one uncle Ronnie Vibbert (Becky); three aunts, Holli Hanson, Stephanie Hoover (Chris), Kelly Short; four uncles, James Denton (Virginia), Steven Brown (Gail), Marty Brown (Jessica), James Brown; three great aunts, Gail Ballard, Patricia Brown, Lisa Brown and several cousins.
