Jeff Lashley, 63, of Brownsville passed away Dec. 27, 2022 at his home.
The Edmonson County native was a 1977 graduate of ECHS, a retired employee of Southern States, and a member of Red Hill General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Phillip Junior Lashley and Maxine Basham Lashley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bennie Carlton Lashley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place 3-7 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday. Surviving are two sons, Todd Lashley (Renee Hart) and Josh Lashley both of Bowling Green; a sister, Charlene Embry (Tom) of Cave City; three brothers, Phillip Lavon Lashley of Richardsville, Trenton Lashley (Katia) of Brownsville and Jody Lashley (Shawna) of Moutardier; three grandchildren, Mason Lashley, Brooklyn Lashley, and Hannah Lashley; and several nieces and nephews. Glenda Sue Kinslow Campbell, age 78 of Bowling Green, departed this life at her residence with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. The Edmonson County native was born on March 31, 1944 to the late Coy and Flossie Jane Vincent Kinslow. After losing her mother at birth, Glenda and her twin sister, Linda, were raised by their aunt and uncle, Chloie and Boyd Lee Davis, whom they considered their parents.
Glenda worked for many years as a home health nurse for The Medical Center. She was saved as a young girl at Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, where she remained a member. She leaves to honor her memory— her husband, Ben Matus of Bowling Green; her twin sister and best friend, Linda Talley (Bob) of Bowling Green; brother, David Davis (Nema) of Florida; step-children, Jimmie Lou Tate (Steve), Brad Campbell (Rindy) and Kenny Campbell (Melissa); nephews, Alan Talley (Leslie) and Greg Davis (Elaine); nieces, Marion Burger and Kim Smith; special daughters, Millie McIntosh and Susan Norman; along with several step-grandchildren, great nephews and nieces, that she adored. The Lexington native was an accounting specialist and a member of The Mission Church. She was the daughter of the late Joyce Ward. Brent Allen Duvall, 42, of Sunfish passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield with family and friends by his side.
He was born in Leitchfield, the son of Vickie and the late Joey Duvall, and lived in Sunfish for his entire life. A charismatic individual known to many as “Spike”, Brent loved to farm, hunt, fish and visit with friends and family. Gail was saved at the age of twelve, and joined Hill Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her passing. She was the former owner of Johnson’s Custom Signs in Cave City. The Jefferson County native was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Billy Lahue Vincent and Beulah Johnson Vincent and the wife of the late Donald Walton Fink Jr. She was preceded in death by a companion, Kenneth Havunen. James served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Upon completing his naval service he served as a pastor in College Grove, TN., Nashville, TN., Jeffersonville, IN., Jackson, MS., Louisville, KY., Homestead, FL., Newport News, VA., Brazoria, TX., and Yuma, AZ until he retired. He was a member of Horse Cave Baptist Church. Besides his wife he leaves to honor his memory-- one son, James M. Kenneth John Havunen, 76, of Hodgenville passed away Dec. 9, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
The Smithfield, RI native was a talented pianist and was a machinist and mechanical engineer for Raytheon. He was the son of the late Neil W. Havunen and Ruth Stalker Havunen and the husband of the late Blanche Fortier Havunen. No public services are scheduled. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Wanda Graham Day, age 76, of Cub Run, departed this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Signature Healthcare Hart County. The Hart County native was born on September 11, 1946 to the late Lester and Barbara Nunn Graham.
Wanda was a former federal employee for the Hart County FSA office. Wanda loved spending time with her family and friends as well as attending church. She was a wonderful mother, mamaw and friend. She grew up in Hammonsville, KY, and later moved to Cub Run, KY. As a young adult, she got saved at Rockford View United Baptist Church. Later on, Wanda became a devoted member of Macedonia United Baptist Church in Cub Run. She leaves to honor her memory— her sons, Rev. Sheila was very artistic, and loved expressing her creativity through her crafts and crocheting. She enjoyed attending craft festivals, but her greatest joy was spending valued time with her family.
