Betty Jane McGrew, age 81

Betty Jane McGrew, age 81 of Caneyville, departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on March 19, 1943 to the late Melvin Lee and Mary Louise McGrew. 

Betty loved her family and took great pride in her role as a housewife and mother. In her leisure time, she delighted in hunting for bargains, reveling in the thrill of flea markets, savoring meals at her favorite restaurants, and taking scenic drives through the picturesque countryside. She also cherished the peaceful moments spent fishing by the water, where she could relax and connect with nature. She was a member of Christian Home General Baptist Church, where she attended in her younger years. 

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Peggy Jane Browning of Bee Spring and Neil Browning (Jennifer) of Richmond; grandchildren, Stephanie Meredith, Richard Smith, Linda Torrence (Anthony), Ryelle Browning, Ryan Browning and Ryder Browning; great-grandchildren, Russell Parsons, Jr., Lyric Torrence, Eli Smith and Daniel Smith and a great-great granddaughter, Emberlynn Parsons. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ann Glass, Sherman, Charles and Frank McGrew. 

The interment will be in Christian Home Church Cemetery.
