![]() Betty L. Houchin, 83 of Brownsville, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Arcadia, Florida. The Edmonson County native was born on Tuesday, September 22, 1931, the daughter of the late Lennie Lindsey and the late Violet Parsley Lindsey. She was the faithful wife of sixty-seven years to Edward D. Houchin, who survives. She was a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. Betty cherished her family and the time they spent together. She was dedicated to her community, church, and a true neighbor and friend. She was the devoted mother to six sons, Terry Houchin (Vicki) of Louisville, KY, Allen Houchin of Scottsville, KY, Tommy Houchin (Lottie) of Brownsville, KY, David "Dink" Houchin of Brownsville, KY, Ronnie Houchin (Teresa) of Brownsville, KY and Ricky Houchin (LaDonna) of Bowling Green, KY; one sister, Evelyn Minton of Louisville, KY; two brothers, David Lindsey of Horse Cave, KY and Don Lindsey of Louisville, KY; twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Thomas Lindsey; a brother, Jim Earl Lindsey; two grandsons, Mark and Kyle Houchin; a granddaughter, Erin York and a daughter-in-law, Martha Houchin. Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery with Bro. Calvin Bond officiating the services. Memorial contributions may be sent to Santa's Secret Hands, P.O. Box 271 Bee Spring, KY 42207.
