Charles Delbert Carnes, 91, of Sweeden passed away at 1:05 PM Dec. 29, 2021 at Hospice House in Bowling Green.
The Hart County native was a boilermaker, a member of Local 40 and a US Army veteran. He was a son of the late William Edward Carnes and Ethel Mudd Carnes; the husband of the late Evelyn Jane Elmore Carnes; and the loving companion of the late Margie Craddock. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Carnes and Alan Carnes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bee Spring Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Sunday. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Duvall (John) of Sweeden and Tabatha Vincent (Brad) of Covington; two sons, Keith Carnes (Don Smith) of Bowling Green and Robbie Carnes (Amy Jo) of Chalybeate; a step daughter, Melissa Whitman (Jason) of Greenville; a brother, Bobby Carnes (Judy) of Bee Spring; three sisters, Betty Skaggs, Joan Burkhead and Joyce Nibblen; 11 grandchildren, D.J. Duvall (Tressa), Lindsey Bolton (Andrew), Chuck Carnes, Emily Dyer (Braxton), Jacob Vincent (Elizabeth), Adam Vincent, Skyler Vincent, Chloe Vincent, Mary Kate Vincent, Henry Vincent and Piper Vincent; five great grandchildren, Evy Bolton, Lola Bolton, Daphne Bolton, Easton Dyer and Joseph Vincent; and several nieces and nephews.
