![]() Chief Ricky Sanders, age 54, of Oakland, Kentucky, passed away on September 27, 2015, at his home. He was a native of Hart County, a 1978 graduate of Caverna High School, a former employee of Winn Funeral Home, R.R. Donnelley & Sons, a former firearms instructor, a KSP reconstructionist and trooper for 10 years. He was a former Police Chief for the City of Horse Cave, a member of the Barren Drug Task Force and formerly worked for the Edmonson County Sheriff's Department. He was the current sitting Chief of Brownsville Police Department and a member of Oakland Baptist Church. He also enjoyed photography. He was preceded in death by his parents, Romie & Margie Fancher Sanders, one brother, Jeffery Poynter, and his uncle and aunt, Hollys and Mayme Logsdon. He is survived by his wife, Cinda Watts Sanders, of Oakland, two sons, Jacob Sanders, of Las Vegas, Nevada, & Jesse Sanders of Oakland, five brothers, Keith Poynter of Cave City, Albert Poynter of Cincinnati, OH, Allan Sanders, Mark Sanders, and Barry Sanders, all of Cave City, several nieces, nephews and a host of family & friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
