Christopher “Chris” William Helson, age 43

Christopher “Chris” William Helson, age 43 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Monday, September 9, 2024. The Edmonson County native was born on October 25, 1980 to Tammie Carrier and Bart Helson. He was married to his devoted wife, Heather Metzger Helson. 

Chris was a graduate of Edmonson County High School, and worked in concrete. He was saved as a young boy at Fairview United Baptist Church, where he remained a member. Chris pridefully enjoyed body building, and he loved playing sports, especially basketball. He found his greatest pleasures when he was outdoors, by the creek and surrounded by his family. 

Besides his wife, Heather, and parents, Tammie and Bart (Lynn), he leaves to honor his memory— his sons, Blake Helson of Bowling Green and Owen Helson of Chalybeate; siblings, Ben Helson (Danielle) and Alex Helson, all of Nashville, and Wendy Bonds (Brad) of Scottsville; grandmothers, Judy Carnes of Bee Spring, Vontella Carrier of Bowling Green and Nancy Helson of Louisville, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephews that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ron Helson, Cleo Carrier, and Bobby Carnes; his mother-in-law, Sheryl Sowell and sister-in-law, Candice Cole. 

Interment will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
