David Long, Jr., age 49 of Brownsville, departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2025 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. The Baltimore, Maryland native was born on August 13, 1975 to the late David Lawrence Long, Sr. and Helen Gale Devine, who survives. He was married to his loving wife of thirty years, Lisa Butler Long.
David practiced his Christian faith and was a skilled mechanic at Torque by Ryder. He had a passion for hunting down hidden treasures at local auctions, where he relished the thrill of finding great deals. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his side-by-side and motorcycle, along with the thrill of watching race cars, moments that allowed him to escape from the daily grind and connect with his passions. His pursuits reflected a deep desire for adventure and happiness. Besides his wife and mother, Lisa and Helen, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Mariah Tichacek (Tyler) of Caneyville and Nathaniel Long (Samantha) of Smiths Grove; grandchildren, Russell Tichacek, Paisley Long, Amelia Tichacek and Madelyn Long, and his sister, Julie Suprata (Mike). He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Rafferty. A Celebration of Life service is planned at his son’s residence, 147 Stinnett Road, Smiths Grove, KY on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 3 PM.
