Howard Mitchell Madison, 96 of Rocky Hill passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014
The Edmonson County native was a son of the late Lon M and Nora Hardison Madison. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Elbert, Shelby and George Madison and two sisters, Lois Doyle and Sopha Cook; two sons, Brian and Brent Madison and a grandson, Todd Mitchell Booker. Mitchell was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II with the 13th Armored Division under General George S. Patton. After returning home Mitchell was a farmer, owner Madison's grocery and Madison's Plumbing and Electric. He was also a member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ. He particularly enjoyed raising his black Angus cattle throughtout his life. His survivors include his wife of 70 years, Flora Martin Madison. a daughter, Teresa Madison; granddaughter, Ronna Cassady (Keith); grandson, Ryan Booker (Leigh); six great grandchildren, Caitlan Laird, Hunter Booker, Spencer Cassady, Madison Crane, Ryleigh Booker and Desirae Owens. A seventh great grandchild is expected next month to Ryan and Leigh Booker. Three sisters, Miriam Beams (Emmett), Pauline Rutledge, Christine Toms and several nieces and nephews. Visitation 1:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Comments are closed.
