James E. Poteet, 94, of Lindseyville passed away at 4:40 PM Monday Dec. 3, 2018 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky House in Bowling Green.
The Edmonson County native was a supply supervisor for Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox and an army veteran of World War II. He was a son of the late Henry Poteet and Pearl White Poteet and the husband of the late Nina Booker Poteet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Poplar Springs United Baptist Church, where he was the oldest member and a trustee, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the church.
Surviving are a daughter, Beatrice Cassady (Jimmy) of Lindseyville; two grandchildren, Jennifer VanMeter (Todd) and Bridgette Hughes (Jonathan); and three great grandchildren, Shea VanMeter, Birdee Hughes and Chloe Hughes.
