James Elijah Whittle, age 71 of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Louisville, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on February 11, 1943 to the late Charles Edward and Lillian Maude Skaggs Whittle. He was married to his devoted wife of 51 years, Margaret Ann “Judy” Whittle, who survives.
He was a self-employed truck driver and a retired, relief operator for General Electric. He was also a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church in Grayson County. In addition to his wife, Margaret Ann “Judy”, he is survived by four daughters, Cindy Fondron (Michael) of West Chester, OH, Pam Carter (John) of Leitchfield, KY, Laura Cassidy (Todd) of Brownsville, KY and Angie Whittle of Elizabethtown, KY; four brothers, Joe Whittle (Mary) of Louisville, KY, Noah Whittle (Ann) of Louisville, KY, John Whittle (Sue Ellen) of Bowling Green, KY and Bob Whittle (Paula) of Louisville, KY; three sisters, Charlene Fields (Bob) of Raliegh, NC, Betty Bilyeu of Portland, OR, Ann Whittle of Ponte Vedra, FL; one sister-in-law, Susie Whittle of Oak Ridge, TN; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
