JoAnna Davis Dennison, age 72 of Cave City, peacefully entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on April 7, 1949 to the late Bro. James Lowell and Wilma Brooks Davis. She was married to the love of her life, Richard Lee “Rick” Dennison, until he preceded her in death on December 9, 1988.
JoAnna had many roles. She was a homemaker, mother, sister, aunt and special “Marmie” to her grandchildren. She was a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, and in most recent years attended Hardin County First United Baptist Church with her family. The Lord blessed JoAnna with many gifts. She had the voice of an angel, and the ability to write numerous songs about her unwavering faith and her heavenly home. Some of those spiritual songs include: “This House In Her Glory”, “Cast Your Bread On the Water”, “LeeAnna’s Song” and “I Hear the Trumpets Sounding”. JoAnna enjoyed working with her hands. She had a vivid imagination and could create masterpieces with a paint brush, a piece of sentimental jewelry, with her sewing machine, or outdoors in her landscaped floral garden. She leaves to honor her memory-- two daughters, Amy Thornhill (Bobby) of Brownsville and LeeAnna Hayes (Scottie) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Michelle Merritt (Patrick), Sierra Rae Ford (Tyler), Seth Isom and Mason Thornhill; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Stella Merritt, Sophia Rae and Cooper Humphrey and Raleigh Ford; one sister, Joyce Hall of Shepherdsville along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two siblings, James Lowell Davis, Jr. and Judy Whittle. Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
