John E. Lindsay, 67, of Mount Dora, FL passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 16, 2018.
The Edmonson County native was a 1969 graduate of Edmonson County High School, graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in accounting and made his home in Central Florida. He was a son of the late George W. Lindsay Sr. and Gustava "Gussie" Westerfield Lindsay. John became highly skilled in the mortgage business and had a successful career that culminated in owning his own real estate and mortgage businesses. He retired to the Lakes of Mount Dora community, where he enjoyed time with his wife, Polly, his lovely home and many close neighbors. He was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Edna "Susie" Lindsay. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday Oct. 5th at Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. At 1:00 PM, there will be a time for the family to receive extended family and friends with fellowship and refreshments. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Polly Miller Lindsay of Nashville; two daughters, Angela Hunter (Sam) of Glasgow and Carolyn Fredericks (Justin) of Nashville; a son, Nathan Lindsay of Danville; a brother, George W. Lindsay Jr. (Patrice) of Salt Lake City, UT; six grandchildren, Sam Hunter, Ben Lindsay, Christian Lindsay, Aishiah Lindsay, Bryce Lindsay and Isla Fredericks; and a nephew, Chris Lindsay (Mindie).
