Kelly Hugh Jaggers, age 77, of Hodgenville, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. A native of Edmonson County, Kelly was born on August 8, 1948, to the late Rev. Elza Edward and Emma Lou Sanders Jaggers. For forty-four wonderful years, he shared a devoted marriage with the love of his life, Shirley Lee Jaggers. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and unwavering commitment to one another.

Kelly's greatest foundation was his faith. At the age of fourteen, he was saved at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church, and later became a faithful member of Kyrock United Baptist Church, where he faithfully worshipped alongside his friends, family and church family and lived a life that reflected his exceptional Christian values. Kelly was especially gifted in prayer, and many found comfort, encouragement, and strength through his heartfelt prayers. His steadfast faith and humble spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kelly honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to General Electric, where he retired as an inspector and chief steward after a respected career marked by hard work and integrity. Never one to stop serving others, he later spent ten years as a bus driver for the LaRue County School District, where he was a familiar and friendly face to countless students and families. Kelly was also a proud member of B.R. Young Masonic Lodge #132.

Beyond all of his accomplishments, Kelly will be remembered most for the way he embraced life and the people he loved. He found great happiness in the simple pleasures—spending time fishing, searching for hidden treasures with his metal detector, collecting coins, and proudly expressing his support for President Trump. Kelly also had a playful spirit and was well known for teasing those around him, always enjoying a good laugh and bringing smiles to family and friends. Whether sharing stories, joking with loved ones, or making memories with his grandchildren, he had a way of making every gathering a little brighter. His love for his family, his unwavering faith, and the countless moments of joy he created will remain treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Besides his beloved wife, Shirley, Kelly leaves to cherish his memory— his children, Kimberly R. Davidson (Tony) of Borden, Indiana, and Shawn Kelly Jaggers (preceded in death by his wife, Julie) of Cave City; his sister, Alice Jaggers Carter (Robert); six grandchildren, Dustin C. Davidson (Morgan), Jessica R. Gesenhues (Sam), Zachary J. Davidson (Hannah), Colton W. Ramos (Katie), Mackenzie Jaggers Aranda (Manny), and Kaleigh B. Jaggers; four precious great-grandchildren, Reagan J. Davidson, Casey L. Gesenhues, Amelia R. Gesenhues, and Jagger J. Davidson; along with several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his cherished church family, all of whom will deeply miss him. In addition to his parents and beloved daughter-in-law, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Harold Jaggers and Mary Lou Jaggers Meredith.

Interment will be in Kyrock Church Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Nesbit Alexander VFW Memorial Post #6937.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kyrock Cemetery Fund, c/o Shawn Jaggers, 205 S. 14th Street, Cave City, KY 42127.
