Margie Browning, age 94 of Lindseyville, departed this life on July 12, 2023 at Genesis Edmonson Center. The Edmonson County native was born on May 2, 1929 in Lindseyville to the late Elrie Day Lindsey and Bertha Salings Lindsey. She was married to Rev. “Bill Tom” Browning, who also preceded her in death.
Margie was saved on January 10, 1945 at the old Midway School House. She worked as a homemaker to provide for her family, and stood by Bro. Bill Tom’s side as he preached God’s word in multiple churches and revivals. She was a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to honor her memory— six children, Serena Vincent (James) of Bee Spring, Kerry Browning of Bowling Green, Bruce Browning of Brownsville, Shelia Moutardier of Lindseyville, Veronica Wells (Rex) of Chalybeate and Monica Browning of Lindseyville; ten grandchildren, Lyle Vincent, Glenn Browning (Gina), Kish Browning (Julie), Chris Browning (Tracy), Doug Moutardier (Jennie), Ross Wells (Megan), Nathan Wells, Holly Hayes (Bret), Shanna Lashley (Chad) and Justin Browning (Julie); seventeen great–grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a sister, Janice Chatfield (Rick). Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by four grandchildren, Terena Vincent, Tonya Hope, Josh Browning, and Alex Wells; three siblings, Joe Lindsey, Dale Lindsey, and Elaine Skaggs, and one daughter-in-law, Beverly Browning. Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
