Mary Landis Hudson Davis Carden, 96

Mary Landis Hudson Davis Carden, 96, of Radcliff, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at her residence surrounded by family. She was a life-long member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church in Edmonson County, KY. She was also a Kentucky Colonel, and an Eastern Star.

Mrs. Carden had many hobbies that she enjoyed and excelled at, but she was most passionate about her garden. Gardening was not just a hobby but a labor of love that she shared with everyone. She had a nurturing spirit and an appreciation for life's simple wonders. She also enjoyed traveling around America seeing as much as she could and took many pictures to share with friends and family. She and her second husband Mike Carden spent several months in Florida as "snowbirds" every year for several years where they enjoyed fishing and boating at Lake Okeechobee. Because of her nurturing spirit she volunteered for many years with the Red Cross at local area hospitals, and clinics.

Mrs. Carden was preceded in death by her two husbands, George Davis of Leitchfield, KY (22 years) and Mike Carden of Radcliff, KY (49 years). She was also preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Edna Hudson of Sweeden, KY; two sons, Michael Davis of Sweeden, KY and John Davis of Radcliff, KY; a sister, Iva Raymer of Louisville, KY and her brother, Grady Hudson of Luzerne, KY.

She is survived by her four children, Patrick Davis (Rose) of Owensboro, KY, Carole Davis Black (Keith) of Radcliff, KY, Sherilyn Carden of Radcliff, KY, Carolyn Carden Wietecha (Tom) of Elizabethtown, KY, a sister Cindy Hudson McCombs (Dwight) of Bowling Green, KY, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM EST until 5:00 PM EST, Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A graveside service with be at 3:00 PM EST, Monday, September 28, 2026 at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, KY-259, Sweeden, KY in Edmonson County.
