Minor Timothy Kinser, 65

Minor Timothy Kinser, 65, of Segal passed away July 14, 2026 from injuries suffered in a vehicle accident near his home.
The Edmonson County native was a member of the Edmonson County High School class of 1978, a retired shipping clerk for International Paper and was a dependable and hard worker- the one that everyone in the family would turn to for help. He filled the role as The Man and problem solver for the whole family and he was also willing and quick to help others. He was the son of the late Minor Travis Kinser, the late Kenneth Lewis- who raised him- and Genevie Houchin Lewis of Brownsville, who survives. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kinser Sowders.

Timmy adored his mother and his daughter and grandchildren were the light of his life, but the love of his life was his wife- Carla Claudine Cole Kinser, whom he married on Sept. 12, 1992. His closest friends say that this union with Carla changed his whole world- improving and making his life complete.

He enjoyed piddling with small jobs, and if he didn’t know how to fix something, he would learn. Timmy also enjoyed tinkering with his ’92 and ’95 Corvettes and his ’31 Model A Ford that was passed down to him and Carla from his father-in-law. He was also musically inclined- he was a talented song writer with a creative mind, had a talent for singing, building and playing guitars, and was an avid fan of Merle Haggard.

Visitation will take place 11:00 AM-7:00 PM Saturday and 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home. No other services have been scheduled.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his daughter, Megan Yoder (Noah) of Smiths Grove; three grandchildren, Emmie Kay Yoder, Axe Timothy Yoder and Jett Cole Yoder; two sisters, Marie Raymer of Segal and Jeanna Newton (Chris) of Mammoth Cave; two aunts, Angela Houchin and Marilyn Wells (Danny); an uncle, Alton Houchin; his best friend and cousin, David Patton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other family and friends.
