Murel Daniel, 88, of Brownsville passed away at 10:17 PM Sept. 23, 2014 at his home. The Johnson County native was a US Navy veteran of World War II, a retired Naval Ordnance production planner, a member of Chapter 32 Disabled American Veterans, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Washington Meredith Lodge #355 F & AM and a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Charlie Daniel and Alka Castle Daniel and the husband of the late Sybil Belcher Daniel. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Erin Daniel, Scott Parsley and Chris Parsley; and three brothers; Funeral will be at 1 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in Brownsville Cemetery. Masonic service will be held at 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home and military honors will be provided by Post #6937 Veterans of Foreign Wars, of which he was a member, at the cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday. Surviving are his wife, Marie Wells Daniel; three sons, Tim Daniel (Debbie) of Louisville, Don Daniel (Tammy) of Lawrenceburg and Steve Parsley (Phyllis) of Brownsville; a daughter, Terry Hudson (Sonny) of Bowling Green; a sister, Bernice Morgan of Louisville; three brothers, Frank Daniel of Columbus, OH, Raymond Daniel of Atlanta and Jess Daniel of Wendell, NC; 13 grandchildren, Bryan Hudson, Todd Hudson, Travis Hudson, James Bowman, Tara Connelly, Blair Crabtree, Matthew Daniel, Stephanie McCurdy, Julie Howard, Kyla Kruizenga, Bruce Daniel, Tammy Bush and Stephanie Cook; and several great grandchildren.
