Ray Gene Sebourn, age 80, of Brownsville, KY, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Born on January 16, 1945, in Leachville, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Raymond and Josie Emogene Seabourn. He was married to his loving wife, Dorothy Henson Sebourn, who he shared fifty-nine years of marriage with.
Ray was a remarkable public servant who devoted his life to his country, serving honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service continued as he retired after twenty-seven years as a Kentucky State Trooper, showcasing unwavering dedication to both his brothers in arms and the community he served. Ray was saved as an adult at Beaver Dam United Baptist Church, where he remained a member. He was also a proud member of the Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM. In his later years, Ray greatly treasured the time he spent fishing and hunting, enjoying the peace of nature. Besides his wife, Dorothy, he leaves to honor his memory— his son, Shawn Sebourn of Bee Spring; grandchildren, Dakota Sebourn (Jordan) of Glasgow and Kennady Sebourn of Bee Spring; great-grandsons, Raylan and Stetson Sebourn; a brother, Joe Sebourn (Mary) of Sikeston, MO, along with a host of friends who loved and respected Ray. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Marie Parker, and siblings, Jerry Sebourn and Josephine Sebourn.
