Rumsey Woodcock, age 71, peacefully departed this life with his family by his side on Monday, July 19, 2021 at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on January 7, 1950 to the late Rex and Lucille Farris Woodcock. He was married to his devoted wife of forty-eight years, Peggy Woodcock, who survives.
Rumsey worked in construction, and was a member of Mt. Zion United Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— two children, Diana Wilson (Eric) of Cub Run and Buddy Woodcock (Trisha) of Bee Spring; five grandchildren, Colton Wilson (Dylan), Sierra Wilson, Janna Blair (Colton), Kaelynn Woodcock and Emma Woodcock; two great-grandchildren, Baleigh Hawks and Connor Blair; three brothers, Larry Woodcock (Teresa), Dennis Woodcock (Loretta), Allen Woodcock (Debra) and two sisters, Tammy Miller (Doug) and Joan Childress (Joe). He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Ronnie Woodcock and one sister, Porsha Woodcock. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
