Suzanne "Suzie" Raymer Hardin, 76, of Alvaton passed away peacefully with her family at her side June 3, 2025 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Edmonson County native was a daughter of the late Noel Raymer Sr. and Dolly Hogan Raymer. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Noel "Nick" Raymer Jr. and James Howard Raymer. Suzie was salutatorian of the class of 1966 at Edmonson County High School, a retired administrative assistant for Western Kentucky University's Journalism Department (a fulfillment of her wishes to be a secretary as she was growing up) where she most loved helping students with their degree programs or helping students who would come to her for advice or for a shoulder to cry on. She was a "mom" to them all when they needed her to be. Most recently, she helped her son at his booth at Flealand checking out customers and greeting everyone with a smile and friendly conversation. Suzie was a member of River Stone Church of Christ and served the Lord by passionately loving and serving not only her family, but also friends. She had a great desire to help make life easier for others. She spent much time preparing meals or desserts for those who were sick or shut-in. She wrote cards to all of the visitors who walked through the doors at River Stone and sent birthday and anniversary cards to all of the members there. She loved large family gatherings, whether it was after church or just anytime they could be together. She got so much joy from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews whom she also thought of as her own. "Mammaw Suzie" always had little toys, gifts or candy to hand out to them when they visited. Words can't express how selfless she was and how much she truly wanted to serve others. She was a wonderful mother, sister, mammaw, Aunt Suzie and friend to so many. This world will always be a little less bright without her here. We will all miss her presence daily. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cub Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday. Surviving are a son, Jeffrey David Haynes of Bowling Green; a daughter, Jennifer Whiteside (Brian) of Alvaton; a sister, Rosalie Durbin of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Brooke Bratcher (Jason), Andrew Cohron (Cassie), Ashlyn McGuire (Bryton), Alexis Haynes, Justine Haynes, Jayla Haynes, Brayden Whiteside and Brittany Brown (Corey); 12 great grandchildren, Adam Bratcher, Lane Bratcher, Lily Bratcher, Kate Bratcher, Rayleigh Cohron, Cooper Cohron, Adley McGuire, Briggs McGuire, Eden Alvarez, Axel Howard, Macy Bratcher and Hazel Howard; and many special nieces & nephews.
