Texie Sue Lashley, age 77 of Wingfield, was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully departed this life at her home on Sunday, October 13, 2024. The Edmonson County native was born on August 15, 1947 to the late Lewis and Annie Farris Torrence. Texie was married to the late Billy Wilson. She then united herself with Charles A. Lashley, and they were happily married until his passing on July 16, 2014.
Texie dedicated a significant part of her life to her career, retiring from Segal Robertson and Turner Industries. However, it was her family that truly defined her. Her greatest joy was always found in the moments spent with those she loved, and she cherished each gathering, holiday, and simple day together. Aside from making special memories with her beloved family, she also loved to crochet and shop for bargains. Texie attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. In her earlier years, she was also a proud member of the Green River Eastern Star. She leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Connie Graham (Robbie) of Pine Grove, Bonnie Graham (Richard) and Billie Sue Tarter, all of Wingfield; son, Troy Lashley (Sherri) of Windyville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Graham (Lisa), J.R. Graham, Nicole Bemiss (Joel Steele), Kristina Tarter, Travis Graham (Meriah), Monte Towe, Priscilla Towe and Zoey Lashley; twelve great-grandchildren and her sister, Kaye Carter (Doug) of Bowling Green. Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
