Viola Williams, age 93, of Park City, KY peacefully departed this life with her family by her side on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home of Glasgow. The Barren County native was born on August 31, 1931, to the late Willie and Verlie Talley Nichols. She was married to J.R. Williams until God called him home on March 5, 2012.
Viola devoted her life to caring for her family's needs as a homemaker, and tirelessly working alongside her husband on their family farm. At the end of each long day, she delighted in the art of quilting and the intricate craft of basket weaving, leaving treasured keepsakes for her family to cherish. A lifelong and devoted member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, she embraced her community with warmth and unwavering faith. She leaves to honor her memory— her daughter, Linda Peden (Larry) of Louisville, Sheryl Bailey (Joe) of Park City; grandchildren, Jason Peden (LaRae), Amy Glasscock (Alex), Benjamin Bailey (Michelle Cooney) and Tyler Bailey (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Skylar Peden, Riley Peden, Cooper Simmons, Hagan Glasscock and Reed Bailey; brother, Elmer Nichols of Bowling Green; sister-in-law, Helen Nichols of Bowling Green, along with several nephews and nieces. The interment will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to: Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
