Virginia Wells Wilson, age 85 of Brownsville, departed this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on October 3, 1934 to the late Lonnie Mitchell and Virgie Ethel Slaughter Wells. She was married to Leslie James Wilson, Sr., who also preceded him in death.
Virginia was a homemaker, and a member of Fairview United Baptist Church. She leaves to honor her memory-- four sons, L.J. Wilson of Brownsville, Eddie Wilson (Kim) of Bowling Green, Lennie Wilson of Alexandria, TN and Tim Wilson (Maria) of Bowling Green; four daughters, Lou Wolfe (Doug), Tresea VanMeter (Hank) and Robin Cassidy all of Brownsville and Julie Decker (Brian) of Huff; thirty-two grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Wells; one sister, Thelma Jean Hoten; son-in-law, Nelson Minyard and daughter-in-law, Sam Wilson. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ervin Wilson and two daughters, Frances Dewitt and Cecile Minyard. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.
