Letter To The Editor: Shame On Pick Up Truck That Drove Through Parade Crowd

9/16/2016

Dear Edmonson Voice,

This letter is for the IDIOT who drove thru the crowd at the Minit Mart during the parade. He was driving a burgundy Toyota pickup truck and turned onto Houchins Ferry Rd. He then proceeded up the road toward all the parade members.

I wonder if you know how much danger you put several people in today. You eased thru the crowd at the Minit Mart, blew your horn because I was apparently standing in the way of where you wanted to turn. I'm 99% sure you didn't see the two year old standing in front of me because you never stopped moving, just kept easing thru the crowd. She's about 30" tall. Hard to see. Did I mention she's two?. Did you know you came within a foot of her? You then proceeded up Houchins ferry Rd toward all the parade participants. At this point I don't believe half the parade members had passed us.

If anyone knows who was driving this truck I would like know. Recklessness and Ignorance needs a name.

Donna Long

And it needs a court date also !
But, Constables could have only shined a flash light at the perpetrator. ( As we have no need of any additional "peace officers" with BLUE LIGHTS in the county.)
Endangering the lives of our children and citizens......
Not enough peace officers to cover the parade..... Hear that fiscal court ?

Wasn't me. Last few parades, I Have been at, I have handed out over $1,ooo each in candy and toys for the kids.
The magistrates said they don't need constables, so why spend my money. I just keep it for myself and let fiscal court do it. That's right, they don't do anything like that, but can sure damn those that try.
I did notice ONE magistrate out helping at the fair. No need to even mention his name, because everybody KNOWS which one it would be, out of the 6. God Bless him, and Judge Cannon also for coming out and helping, work at the fair, while the "others" worked on the couch......
As for the others, the community services you provide are mesmerizing........
Next election, we will see who is banned in Edmonson County.
THEN we will see who is "whining".

Dist.2 CONSTABLE OFFICE The main duty of Kentucky magistrates is serving on the fiscal court, though the official language of the state constitution says the court "may" include justices of the peace as well as the judge of the county court. In some counties in Kentucky, magistrates may not be required to sit in on fiscal court meetings---thus eliminating the last real duty of the office. In other counties, magistrates may make up the majority of members of the fiscal court, which is charged with conducting the county's business.
