Letter To The Editor: Voting In A Church Goes Against Personal Beliefs

Dear Edmonson Voice,
My name is John Lindsey and I've lived in Edmonson County my entire 46 years of life, and in all those years I've never voted inside a church. I have been relocated to vote in Cedar Springs at the community church which goes against my beliefs. 

It is my understanding if our magistrates will all agree to have their districts remapped then Edmonson County can be set up so the fire departments can be used for voting. 

I'm in the process of contacting as many magistrates as possible. I'm not voting in a house of God, it's disrespectful and morally wrong. It's a place of worship and should be treated as such. My father is a preacher, my father-in-law is a preacher, and I've been taught my whole life that a church is intended for one thing only and that's to worship the Lord. 

I'm asking citizens of Edmonson County and those of us that vote in the Rocky Hill district to stand against this and contact your magistrates so this can be changed. No one should have to choose between holding to their beliefs and not voting.
