KYROCK ELEMENTARY: Mrs. Nora's Class: By: Oaklee Williams (age 5) First, get the turkey from the Dollar Store. You bring the turkey in, and you put it on a big pan. Then I would put seasoning. I don’t know a lot of the seasoning we have. Cook the turkey in the oven for about probably like 30 or 40 minutes. Serves: (I don’t like turkey) but I think it would serve about 6 people. By: Blake Duvall (age 5) You hunt the turkey in the woods. You shoot it with the gun. First you're gonna clean it—scrub it with a loofa. Stick it in the stove, turn the stove on 10 degrees. Cook it for an hour. Then we put it on plate, and eat it and say what we’re thankful for. Serves: 20 people By: Carter Halsell (age 6) You get the turkey from hunting. Bring it inside and wash it first. Put pepper and pepperonis on it and then cook it. Put it in the oven and turn the oven on high. Cook it for 3 minutes. When the oven beeps it’s done. Then we eat it! Serves: 4 people By: Eli Brooks (age 6) Get the turkey in the woods. You shoot it. After that, you bring him back and wash him. Then we cook it. Put him in the stove. Set the stove on 5. Add pepper, sauce, and peppers and then some salt. Then add some meat and chicken. Cook it for an hour, and then bring it where you want to eat it. I always eat mine with beans, mashed potatoes, red noodles, and bacon wrapped on a hot dog. Serves: 15 people By: Leighton Smith (age 6) My Papaw is going to go hunting and shoot one. Then we are gonna bring it home and Papaw will chop the head and feet off. That’s not really my responsibility. I’m gonna put it in the oven for maybe, like, an hour. Then, I will cook it and then wait until it cools down. Then I’m gonna put this really good seasoning on it that we have at my house. It’s spicy but I like it too. Then I’m gonna put some salt and pepper on it. Then I’m gonna get a plate out, and put some other things with it like stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans. Then I’ll call my family and tell them it’s ready. I want Mama, Daddy, Papaw, Mamaw, Piper, and Bonnie. Bonnie eats all of our scraps so she’ll eat anything that’s left. By: Clara Hennion (age 6) Get a turkey from the store. Take it home to the kitchen and put green stuff around it and some carrots. Put it in the oven on the middle temperature for 1 and ½ hours. When it’s done, share it with all my family and friends. By: Emma Flener (age 5) I wanna make a delicious turkey breakfast for all of us, all of my classroom and my family. So, drive the bus and Mrs. Nora and Mrs. Annie are both gonna go. Drive the bus to the woods. We run off and catch fish, turkey, and deer. To cook the turkey, we put it on a fireplace and turn it so it doesn’t burn. It’s gonna be delicious. It turns really fast, and it can really burn. You want it to get crunchy. Season it with a little bit of sugar and salt too. Then we serve it with Coke, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper and we eat it up. Serves: 6 people By: Sterling Wyeth (age 5) First, get the turkey from the farm. You cut the turkeys head off. After you cut the head off you add salt, and then cook it. Cook the turkey on the stove for 20 minutes. Take it off and add more salt, but not pepper because that would make it spicy. Serves: 3 people (Mommy, Poppy, and Nana) By: Lincoln Coy (age 5) You hunt for the turkey–my uncle does. You have to cut off the head and then pull out all the feathers. Like where, you know the back is, you have to skin those feathers off the back. I think you put salt and seasoning on it and then you put it in the oven and cook it for a little while, probably like an hour or two. Take it out of the oven and then you have to cut it into pieces (like ham is) and then eat it! Serves: 10 people (like in my family) By: Ayden Lindsey (age 5) First, get the turkey from the Dollar Store. When you get it home you make it. You put probably sprinkles on it like you do cookies.
