Peytin Manor, story and photos: On February 27th, Edmonson County High School senior Tristan Muse officially signed with the football program at Union College, an NAIA university located in Barboursville, Kentucky. Wade Walker, Union College Recruit Coordinator, states, “When we look at all of the kinds of traits a student can have when recruiting, Tristan checks off all of those boxes. He is a great kid even outside of the field. Tristan is everything we are looking for at Union College.” A two-year starter for ECHS, Muse made his mark on both sides of the ball, playing quarterback and linebacker for the Wildcats. During his senior season, he threw for 708 passing yards while tossing just one interception all season. He also led the team’s ground attack with 458 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns, finishing the year as the Wildcats’ leader in both total rushing yards and rushing scores. Defensively, Muse was just as dominant. He paced the team with four forced fumbles, 45 solo tackles, 49 assisted tackles, and 94 total tackles, showcasing his toughness and consistency throughout the season.
ECHS Head Football Coach Justin Vessels stated, “Tristan is an all around very intelligent player. It was very reassuring having such an intelligent player on the field because it felt like having another coach on the field.”
