Lady Cats Now 24-4 On Season With 58-24 Win Over Hancock County Darren Doyle, story:
The Edmonson County Lady Cats phenomenal season continued Saturday as they reached yet another milestone by breaking the school record for the most number of wins in a season. The girls improved to 24-4 on the year--the best record in school's history--after defeating Hancock County 58-24 at the Owensboro Sportscenter earlier today. Caitlin Simon led the offense today with 22 points (2,432 career) and 8 rebounds. Katlin Collins also notched double figures with 10 points. Also helping was Peyton Martin with 7 points and 6 assists, Chanley Logsdon added 6, both Lauren Ballance and Emma Rose Vincent added 4 each, Skylar Lewis added 3, and Abby Alexander scored 2. "This team continues to amaze me while breaking new records," said Head Coach Kevin Jackson. "Tonight they shot the lights out with 10 three-pointers. I'm very proud and I look forward to the remainder of the season." The Lady Cat defense has given up only a total of 37 points to their opponents over the last two games. The team has three games remaining on the schedule, which include two regular season games and the first round of the district tournament. A win in the first round will guarantee the team two more games.
