Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle, photos: The Edmonson County Lady Cats were defeated in a 41-37 game against a tough Green County team last night on the first of two days of the Rafferty's/Double Dogs Caveland Classic. Rebounding and defense, two major aspects of the Lady Cats' game in which they take pride, would definitely be key in grabbing a win last night; however, Green County won the battle of the boards 33-25 and had six different players in the scoring book. It was also a tough night for scoring for Edmonson County, shooting 31% on 14 of 45 from the field.
Edmonson County was led in scoring by freshman Cariann Williams with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Lily Jayne Vincent added 7 points and 7 rebounds, Callie Webb and Jenna Cook each added 6, Emma White had 5, Riley Roy had 2, and Kennadi Swihart scored one point. Edmonson County falls to 6-2 on the season and is scheduled to take on Metcalfe County today at approximately 2:45PM at ECHS for the final day of the Caveland Classic, immediately following the boys' game against Taylor County today at 1PM.
