Romero Pitches Seven Shutout Innings On Edmonson County Senior Food Pantry Night Darren Doyle, story and photos: Right handed pitcher Tommy Romero led the way for a 1-0 Bowling Green Hot Rods win over the West Michigan Whitecaps Wednesday, August 8th, during Edmonson County Senior Food Pantry night at Bowling Green Ballpark. Romero went seven innings with five strikeouts, allowing only five hits and one walk as his record improved to 9-3 on the year. Right hander Tyler Zombro was credited for his fourth save of the year as he went the final two innings. Bowling Green notched their only run of the game when infielder Justin Bridgman singled in the fifth. He scored on center fielder Carl Chester's triple, and it would be the only run needed to back Romano's pitching performance.
Bowling Green is scheduled to continue the series against West Michigan tonight at BG Ballpark with first pitch slated for 6:35pm.
